I waited with baited breath all week and finally won this auction tonight. For the purists, yes, its a clone, but cloned from a true GS over 20 years ago. Its a wee bit of a project, and was listed as such, but theres almost half a spare car worth of parts including a spare 455. Im just an old retired guy that came from a Buick family and personally owned at least 10 of these over the years. Last one was about 1990 so its sure gonna feel good to have something to "ROMP" on again. So for now, Im just gonna post the edog ad so you guys can see some pics and offer suggestions. Please don't make comments about the loud period correct interior... it already makes the plastic teeth hurt looking at it! It does have a tilt wheel, under dash 8 track and tissue dispenser for the losers that gotta "Boo-Hoo" about being left 6 blocks behind! Ill do one better... my little Canon camera does excellent videos (16 Mp) and Ill do a burn out and a "FLY BY" on the deck with open headers and do a youtube! Theres lots of country roads in northern Wisconsin... may just scare the milk outa the cows! Got the bank end all straightened out this morning and plan on getting it Friday. The owner has only put about less than 500 miles on it in the last few years merely taking a 2 mile trip on Saturday nites to the Sonic drive in. I asked him if it would make the 200 mile drive home, and he GRACIOUSLY offered to load it on his trailer with all the spare parts in his truck and meet me at his daughters house which is 50 miles for me and 150 miles for him. For an ebay seller, he couldn't be more pleasant or accommodating! He knew how much I wanted it and actually refused an immediate sale from a broker in DUBAI who offered to have a shipper pick it up with a container at ANY COST if he'd pull the auction. He said no way that the auction had to run its course (!) and consequently I won it. He wanted it to go to a good home. He found that with me. I am just a man in love with his Buicks! So now, the wife asked me if she could drive it and I said absolutely! "Can I go fast; like maybe 100?" she said ou:. Well, that turned into a lecture about fast meaning 100 or getting there in 10 seconds :Smarty:. I told her to make sure she brings a big bath towel to sit on :eek2:. She actually got that! Shes an old gear head dame that's had a few SBC Novas (pure stockers) and doesn't quite understand what fast really is. Now I ned to consider a new license plate like NCC 1701; any catchy ideas welcomed! ws

Thanks... that's a 1963 36 foot aluminum Roamer hull #6... owned it since 1972 on Lake Michigan. The one guy lives in Cutchogue and the A-Ville guy owns East Coast Diesel Svc for industrial (ship sized) diesel fuel injector repair and pumps. Small world! My sister lives in Brooklyn and at 65 hasn't quite figured it out yet. Shes from Two Rivers where I am... ws

Ya know, over the years Ive always had issues between my own criteria, and the criteria of the judges. The latter always gets that well deserved pimp slap when it comes time for a stranger "judging" my stuff, especially when they have a Yugo that probably needs a new transmission anyway...I do my own work (95% anyway!) and have had a project of one sort always going on since I was a kid. Its a family disease thing. Since I had to float a loan on this one, I at least wanted something to drive. "Needs work"? Yeah, a little, but from what the PO (previous owner) told me, 25 years ago he started the restoration on a really solid real GS, and short of a rotisserie frame off job, spent weeks underneath wire wheeling and painted it ALL with POR15 topped of with gloss black enamel while tacky. The car back then had a 488 or a 533 gear which he changed out to a 1970 Old station wagon diff with about a 343 gear, and of course the whole overhaul with that before installation... it went on from there with a disc brake conversion all new front suspension and on and on with about 500-1000 miles on it in the last 20 years. Even back then, it was treated to brand new GM quarter panels (from the bottom up to the sail panel) and entire new trunk floor, side drops and inner fender wells. As you can tell, this guy and I spoke several times for an hour at a time of what was done. The paint was done in 1976 Chevy Ermine white (?)(he called it the whitest white available then!) with a slight dusting of pearl white in the first clear coat, then a final clear coat before the striping went on. In my honest opinion, the car needs a few things, like an OEM seat and door panel kit, some AC work including the missing condenser (help! I need one!!) and a lousy Rally Gage pack for in dash gages. Ive still got the original shop manuals from GM from my YOOT. Tomorrow is the day I take delivery at which point the pics will be coming in... in my past I was a technical process photographer for a truck building company in Chicago and take LOTS of digital pics. If yer on a dial up... Sooo Sahly Chahly ! So for now to add some color to this run on dialogue.... ws Theres a yearly car show here and a parade of everyone from Manitowoc to Two Rivers, about 6 miles. Only one other GS Ive seen in the area... anyone from here?? ws
"We are about to embark on a great crusade..." We peel out at 0830 today to go pic up the starfighter! As time goes on theres gonna be a ton of spares (1972?) stuff that's gonna be available for adoption... stuff like doors, trunk lid, a front fender and a (red) 455 spare motor, complete minus starter and carb, a rear bumper, 5 pretty decent looking (?) 14" 70ish rally wheels, and a bunch of taillight assemblies. Stay tuned for a comprehensive (I hope!) list of stuff that will most certainly be offered here before anywhere else. As of today, I do have that Model T speedster for sale along with my 1978 FXRS/FLH and a nice Pfaff industrial sewing machine with some "slight" bobbin issues. Had that for 10 years with 1/2 hour of sewing time on it... I need the room and it needs a tune up like most of us! Great for canvass and upholstery work. Anyway, got the Silverado and gloves ready to roll... more to follow! ws

Man have I forgotten what gear box steering and shocks is like to drive... sure aint rack and pinion no more! So this morning we both arrived at the SEARS parking lot in Appletown at exactly 1000 hrs today. What a sight! Wife backed her off the trailer (was feelin' gutsy!) went to Olive Garden for lunch for celebration and then made the 50 mile run home from there on only 1/4 tank of gas. It was raining. So theres so much to say that I don't know where to begin. Its tagged (with color coordinated plates of course!) and insured and needs a battery. I have a car trunk AND truck loaded with parts which Ill need to liquidate most of. This forum is huge and I hate to be off on a dozen threds at the same time. Is this a good place to stay?? Heres a few pics to wetcher whistle for now. Already got 10 compliments just getting gas and plates! ws These cars are WAYYYYY smaller than I remember 100 lbs ago! LOL
Nice looking ride. I think it would look much nicer with some 15" rallies and the Craegars gone. I am thinking there is a Nova out there dying for them, lol... Mike
