Running it as it came from the dealer in December of 1968 with bigger tires......see the signature.

The '68 has turned 13.125, but was running out of gas as it only had a 350 pump on the 464. Broken fitting on the stg1 pump. We have a new pump installed and turned 13.2 on street tires. We will get some slicks in the next couple of weeks and I am sure this car will go high 12's.

Can I vote myself a 10sec. if I ran out of gear at 1200ft and clicked it off and still ran 11.21. Please, please, please. LOL. Seriously, I need that ten on a pump gas motor(150 shot of N20 helped a smidge) at 4130lbs to look at myself in the mirror with respect. I dissassembled the car shortly after that. I'll never get another chance in my Stage1. It's gonna be a restored stocker:Brow: now. Waaaahhhh, I wanna 10. waaahaaawaa.

13.40's with a 2.0 60'. Slicks and rear suspension work should add 2-3 tenths. Something other than a 2000 stall should help also. We built it as a street car first, with occasional racing. As you can see, it is a work in progress!

where'd the back window go in the pic?

regardless of the raggy looking top in the pic (that's what it looks like... it's got a texas plate; it never rains there anyways)

    it's still a sweeeeeeeeeeeet ride:TU:

WELL guys i think a V8 did run faster than a 7.80. DOUG i think he built your motor. (scotty) and buy the way that was with no turbos. 7.67 was the number so john will have to wait to beat that with the new car. thats my 2 cents. JOHN MASSOUD 9.57 AT 148 STAGE ONE

The day I bought it, the prior owner was showing me how the hydraulic top worked. The back window got in a bind and broke.......what a knucklehead. I have been concentrating on the motor, tires, wheels, rear end....stuff like that, before I start on the top, interior and paint.

    Time and money.

Unfortunatley for most (probably all) of us, we don't have the time and money to do everything at once.:ball:

But it was at least an interesting story:) but with some downsides:( that all of us have at one time or another.:error:

p.s. at least you have a cool project car :) :(

117,700 miles yesterday... not rebuilt. yes, I love the car, but I want a rwd car like a late '70s or '80s v8 cutty, regal, or monte carlo. An el camino or malibu would work too. Rebuilds are pretty easy and not too pricey, even with a mild buildup. Someday I'd like to stick a 3800 (sc'd) under the hood of my satty or something that'd kill Honduhs left and right, but I'm a high-school senior trying to save up money. Parts for saturns aren't too expensive, but there's not much variety out there, the only cams I've heard of are not streetable for dirt, and it's stuff like that. But I did get a factory header for it:) All in all, it's bittersweet. Like AMCs. They're under-rated, different, but parts, there's not much.

Find a late '80's LC2 Buick turbo motor and stick in there. You could have a Saturn Grand National!.

a 4.3 Syclone motor would do well also; but that may be too big. I have a pic of a supercharged 3800 in a '94 sc2. It has a 5-speed out of a cavalier, and engine mounts are homeade. Either way, it'd all be sweet. I'm not selling it though, it's not worth anything on trade-in.:)

I wish this thread was started when I could run 13's in my Skylark. I ditched it to bump up to the next level. I have to make room for a GS/T-Type. Still looking however. It's strange for the first time in my life I have two 455's and no car to drop them into................It is a complete role reversal for me. I broke my stinking finger two weeks ago, so I've decided to hold off on ripping into my mint 87 Limited.

Does anyone have a small block GS or a t-type to trade?

I voted for the 9's with the car in my avatar WHEN it's finished. Sucks when you have to decide between:Do No: ---the regal:grin: or a new house:(

'71buickg.s. a dark and stormy night..

The lc2 motor wont work for fwd infortunately.. hed have to get a supercharged one:Smarty: Those can still be made to go perty fast! Sounds like an awesome sleeper to me. Ive always thought about getting a 4th gen camaro, all black, gn rims, custom gn style interior, throw an lc2 in it and make everyone think its just a 200-hp v-6:Brow:
