I wonder if the rubber A/C hose can be cut, shortened, then spliced together with clamps.

Am I right by putting the A/C and Alt. belts around the lower pulley and water pump pulleys or is the Alt. belt the only one that goes around both pulleys?

I see you are a Steeler fan or are you just pointing out you live in Steeler country?

I live twenty miles north of Da Burgh. I'm a Steeler fan for sure. I also dig those Patriots. I hate when they play each other:af: I can't remember the belt routing off hand. When I work on it later tonight I'll check it out.

I found another picture I took that shows the belts going accross both pulleys.

Yes, my heat shield went on okay but I had to bend it down a bit. That's why I originally thought it might be shorting itself out against the starter wiring.

I gave up being a Browns fan when the Browns left Cleveland. I was there in the dogpound on their last game against Cinncy in the old stadium. On that day, I joined the rest of my friends and became a Steeler fan and still am today. I'm not sure what I was thinking ever being a Clowns fan. :Do No:

    To keep you up-to-date:

This has been a learning experience. The lower heater hose that connects to the water pump was sitting on the header. On my way to work it melted a hole in it. I ran up to the parts store on my break and bought a replacement which was too narrow (they sold me a 5/8" instead of 3/4" hose). I smashed it on there anyway and drove it back to work. That hose was sitting too far forward so the A/C pump belt burnt a hole in that one. I duct taped it and drove it to the next parts store to buy a 3/4" hose. So far, that hose is holding out pretty good. I am seeing leakage around the lower part of the water pump. I don't want to over tighten the bolts that are in the aluminum but I'm thinking I didn't get them tight enough.

I don't have the power I thought I would but I haven't gotten the timing set and the carb needs some serious adjustments. I don't even have the electric choke on there yet.
    Take care,

Okay, okay. I'm working on the pics but I have to wash the darn thing first. It looks pretty nasty with oily hand prints still on the hood and fenders.

I still need to fix a leaky water pump. Other than that, it's all good. Do you hear the lifters clicking on yours? It's not a bad noise, I'm just wondering if it will eventually go away or if I should use a different oil or oil additive. I'm using 10-W30 right now.

I don't really hear the headers ticking like yours do but I have a bunch of paint on them. That might be the trick!

Buddy of mine wants to sell me a set of those very rims for $40. I'm going to get them. Does anyone have any good shots of Regals with Z28 rims like sharkmonkeys?

    Thanks,
    Dan
