Just curious before I drop the $$$ on some new headers.

I'm putting a 68 Skylark 350 in my 85 Regal but wanted to change to TA headers. Will the TA 2010SCH_Raw 350 headers fit? Such as steering column clearance, tranny, etc.

I would love to see some pictures if someone else has done this.

    Thanks,

Hooker super comps fit with one modification per side.

The Hooker headers are a little more money but at least I know they'll work. Is the rest of the exhaust all custom made or did you buy an exhaust system?

I haven't had tailpipes made yet since I just got it on the road, but I do have pipes going to some cherry bombs( I know, but bombs are dirt cheap!) I made my own pipes to that point. I'll borrow a good digital camera this week so I can show where I modified the headers. As for the tailpipes, I'll probably tack weld together a mock-up one and have a local shop bend it and its mirror image.
A buddy of mine used Monte SS tailpipes on his Cutlass and they work fine. I'd do that but I want mine dumping out after the rear wheels, not under the bumper.

Hers the best shot I can get with my stinky digital. This is the driver side pipe.

That's very helpful. Did the headers need modified or something on the car?

The headers needed a little modified. They both hit the frame at the bottom rear A-arm mount. I cut a beveled section out of one pipe on each side and welded in a flat piece. A better way would be if you had extra tubing that was arc shaped that you could put in place of the offending area. The way I did it is fine for a stocker. Splicing in full girth tubes would be more necessary for a killer BB.

That's awesome! Thanks again. I made someone an offer on some used Hooker Super Comps so I should be getting them soon.

    Thanks.

    Mark,

I do want to mention that I'm getting some noise from my exhaust. When a car cools down you can hear some heat related noise, kinda ticking. Well mine makes quite a loud tick. Hapens when its running, and when its still hot and not running. Doesnt seem to be anything going wrong, just a lotta heat noise(expanding/contracting?). I just wanted to give you a heads up in case your headers do It also.

I forgot to ask you on this post...

Are those 3" to 2 1/2" collectors on there?

I guess they are three inch. I didn't pay much attention. A friend of mine had them laying around and my used headers didn't have any, so I shnarfed them. I think they went down to two inch, but I cut them up further so they would match evenly to the 2 1/2 inch pipe I used. I welded them together and all is well.:bglasses:

    Well, here's your update.
I got the engine all ready to drop in and then found out motor mounts would just not fit. I took the ones off the V6 but with the help I had, somehow they were reversed and the engine would not fit. After about an hour of trying to get the motor mount bolts through, I switched the motor mounts around and the engine dropped right in.

Now the biggest problem: No matter how hard we tried, we could not get the engine to fit with those headers on there. We removed the driver side and got the engine to fit but I can't get the driver side header on now. The top of it hits the power brakes thing (sorry too early to remember proper name).

How do I get the headers on there? What method did you use aside from miracles? I know it's probably something we were just too tired to try and the sun was going down so visibility was gone. Help! Thanks.

By the way, if I get another "It just drops right in" answer, the whole car goes up for sale as is.

    CIT Poweraddict, help me

No wonder you can't get your exhaust to fit.
The engine is supposed to be IN the engine compartment
