I have a White GSX S1 4spd but I decided that this car should have been a Stage 2 so htat is the route I took. I also scraped the bell housing in favor of a scatter shield because I like to drive the car hard. It should make it to the 2005 GS Nationals God willing.

This is a friend of mine whos car is on the poster of the white gsx
you see floating around, in several muscle car books and calenders. His name is Ken Bratko, and the photo is from the gm
show at carlisle, in the display area. After winning first place you are asked to come back the next year and display the car inside. He
use to work for buick, and preped this car when it was new for the orig owner. Ken bought the car from the orig owner because the guy bought the car for his son in 1970, but the father was scared to death his kid was going to kill himself driving it. Ken's had the car since 1974.

Bob Swarthout, AlaskaBuick's dad, recently bought a white Stage 1 Auto, and Dennis (AlaskaBuick) has a yellow auto.

The QQ is more sought after by collectors I have been told, because the Saturn yellow says more..."Look at me" and
stands out more in a crowd. The 10-10 is indeed more rare
though. It just depends who wants one and what their willing
to pay for the color and options they want.
I think their both equals, and like them both the same, as I do
all Buicks. " WOULDN'T YOU REALLY RATHER HAVE A BUICK?"

A white GSX 4-speed with AC, that would be the ultimate GSX as far as I am concerned. In the meantime my '70 GSX Stage 1, QQ with original block in the garage with a hole in the side sits there! It's a Chicago car, rusty quarters, and undercoated but is the 14th one built! Someday very soon, I hope to start it's restoration, I have almost everything to do it, but time and space!

    Re: dealership

I don't think we have ever determined that? I will have to check it out later. I have copies of all the registrations/titles from the previous owners. The engine was blown when the last IL owner raced a Testarossa on the expressway somewhere near Chicago. They rebuilt an Electra engine with KB 118 cam and basically stock otherwise. Some of the car was painted as the side stripes are really wrong, but I think the roof and trunk lid are orginal paint! RV

From what I have observed there is little difference in the price between white and yellow. I have seen both colors go for high dollars. I do think a stage-1 is worth more than a stock 455 and a 4-speed with worth more than automatic car. I think this has more to do with how people perceive muscle cars. Everyone want the high HP option with a 4-speed. That is what most people envision when they invision a muscle car.

I will do some number crunching tonight and post results from the registry from rarest to most plentiful. I do not have it in front of me right now.

Also, My father is the orginal owner and still has a 1970 Apollo White Stage-1 automatic GSX.

I believe that high dollar for these cars is 50K+.

WELL GUYS, FOREGIVE MY IGNORANCE, BUT DID BUICK EVER BUILD ANY GSX STAGE-1 CONVERTIBLES?
