GSX values?

I'd like some opinions on GSX values based on things like stg1 vs non stg, yellow vs white, stick vs auto, options etc. Based on a 70 model in excellent condition. Thanks Phil

 

I would guess desirability are in this order:
1. white 4-spd stage 1
2. yellow 4-spd stage 1
3. white auto stage 1
4. yellow auto stage 1
5. white 4-spd 455
6. yellow 4-spd 455
7. white auto 455
8. yellow auto 455

 

I'd agree with Greg on the order :TU:

Monetary values? Every collectible tangible object has increased in value since the stock market crash earlier this century.

 

I'm confused as to why the Apollo White would garner more favoritism vs the Sunburst Yellow. I, for one, find that the GSX is most associated with the yellow.

But then again, I race a Riviera, so what the hell do I know...?

 

I prefer Saturn Yellow myself, but the white GSXs are simply RARER! :grin:

 

Maybe because less were built?

Just ask Mark Macoubrie how hard a 10-10 GSX Stage1 4-speed is to find :3gears:

I'd like to see how many on the board here have a white GSX. I think I have seen only one-Larry Miller has a nice one. Brad's factory show car-thats one of a kind!

Well, there are two in Jersey (both on the board) - GSThunder (Al - 455 4 speed) and Buickx (Owen - Stage1 Th400)

 

I just finished the resto on my white stage one GSX auto and will have it at the nationals this year.

 

You can count mine in.

Crunching some numbers based on averages, % of white cars and % of options from his registry, Mark M. and I have guesstimated about 30-35 white Stage 1 4spds were made.

Marco, oddly enough, Mark M. actually found mine for me.

Wow Mark, your white GSX looked pretty rough when you got it. Where did you find it? I bet it's an interesting story.

I got 2 with original paint.....one white one yellow..... and i know where there are a half dozen GSX stage 1 4 speeds....QQ and 1010 that are not even buick club guys... ...the question is how many nuts out there have a secret GS -GSX that you know of that is waiting to be sold to YOU...huh????hmmmm?...answer that...:3gears:

 

Everyone's got their equally valid point of view. ON the other side of the coin most people that contact me about wanting one are looking for QQ cars. That has been the case even when they did not know we owned QQ s. I think it is due to the fact that this unusual color was only made one year on 499 GSX cars. In that sense it is more rare that 10/ 10 which is Artic white but called Apollo white on just the GSX. There were many Artic white color cars built sans the stripes. I do agree that most seem to want the 4 speed over the auto and the stage one over the non stage.


And sure I am biased because we have a 70 stage 1, 4 speed QQ.

The only other apollo white, stage 1, 4 speed GSX I've ever seen, was at Flint last year and it belonged to Jeff Sapp. I was told the same thing, aprox 30 produced.

 

Count me in on a 10/10 stage1 auto air, and a QQ Stage1 4speed. I like the QQ color the best.Just wish they were finished!!!

 

The reason the white "x" is more money because their are only 187 mfg in 1970, out of 672 total, the rest being in yellow.
