Im redoing the floors in the kitchen, pantry and laundry room. When I installed the current floor nearly 15 years ago I laid down thin set and then backer board which was screwed down with 20 screws each. Now it s a PITA to get up. second to last step to a clean surface to start over was to get all the screws up. screw gun takes to long and many of the heads are filled with concrete/ mortar. Pulling with a pry bar broke them off 1/8 " above the surface so thats no good. Nipping each one off with a cut off wheel works great, its fast but kicks up a lot of dust + has the potential to cut your arm off. I'll be OK and it could have been much worse. Just be careful when using a tool like this. Get to comfortable and it will jump up and bite ya.
It got locked up and jumped out of my right hand and flew into the left forearm. was in the hole where the stove normally goes on my hands N knees. Actually cut a small groove into the bone and left some fragments floating around in there.
I'll post up some pics as the floor, counter tops and back splash gets done. I can work with the arm / hand but I have no strength to grip anything.
I had a similar but less serious grinder incident. Grinder caught, jumped back into my gloved hand and gashed it. Luckily no internal damage....super glued the wound...left a nice scar.

Dont know about a weapon but it was big enough for the doctor to put his finger up to the knuckle into it while fishing around and pouring some solution into it without any anesthesia. He then stitched it up. First hospital numed it up hours before but it had completely worn off by the time this joker cam in.
Be sure to keep it CLEAN and dry. I got a cut on my thumb base almost 40 (definitely over 38 ) years ago, and it got infected through mu own stupidity. I STILL don't have feeling on most of that thumb due to nerve and tissue damage. I almost lost that sucker from the initial cut, then F@%^ed up and got it infected. They had to do minor surgery to cut off the infected/ dead meat, ans sew me back together.
That's a nasty looking wound. Being that deep pay extra attention to it so it doesn't get infected. We'll miss you at John's Buick get together. Fred
DUDE. That had to hurt like hell and back. Keep that baby clean clean clean clean. Hopefully the face you so meds to help prevent infection. If you can find someone who can make you a silver spray solution, even though drs wont admit it, but dissolved silver is great for fighting infection.
Daughter that works at a Level 1 Trauma Hospital says you better take care of that...it's ugly. Please take yourself to doctor for further treatment. It is imperative.
