THE BUICK GESTAPO? SIEG BUICK! I GUESS? We have a local guy up near here who turned a boat tail Riv into what he calls a Tucker. He will swear that is what it is even when you tell him it is a Buick. The car is a piece of crap. I wonder if he will go that route?

    Love the term "buick gestapo'

I'm a keep it original guy - hate to see decent car get chopped - especially a well equipped gs.
buletlines how about putting it in the registry so we can aleast see what it was - also could use nice scans of the documents.

Bulletlines hasn't been on the board since last July. Either he sold the car to someone who will keep a rare car rare, or it's been turned into something I know I wouldn't care to see.

My '72 Riv will be modified, but it isn't a Grandma car, it isn't a GS, and it wasn't original when I got it. Actually, if it met that criteria I probably wouldn't have bought it as I already have a car that's been put back to original. I wanted something to play with and I would've left an original Riv GS for someone else who would preserve it.

Anyway, old thread, no use for me rambling on...

    Yardley still sucks.

Thanks for the info - Lots of them out there in cut it up make what you want it to be shape - not many close to original - I know i looked for almost two years - was willing to travel to texas (from Canada) - found one with all the the right stuff for my taste (less cruise) and good enough shape to be factory fresh within my budget (almost) in Mass.

10 months is plenty of time to ruin a Riviera. :(
(not, that it couldn't be changed back:cool:[?])

Let's hope; Grandma's Riv, was saved.

See post #22 of this thread. I asked the OP not to make the Donkey Frog. :TU:

But yes, I agree. 10 months is plenty enough time to ruin a Riv. Let's hope that's not the case.

i purchased this car a little while back and found this post wondering online.dont worry fellas the car is in good hands.should be back from the hydraulic shop in a few weeks and will be bouncing down the road:Brow:.just kidding....will be staying original for the most part.picked it up for $4200...:Do No:decent?didnt care really iv been looking for one in this shape.besides one spot in the trunk lid its almost 100% rust free.even found some factory bare
    melat spots still shiny.

also was wondering if anyone can anyone tell by the pictures what color this is?or tell me where to find the code.with the age its hard to tell by online color charts.and is it a rare or common color?was thinking of going with another color but dont want to regret it later.what i was trying to find in my wondering.

I just read this whole thread. A whirl wind of emotions and it seems a happy ending. The Donk Frog has once again been avoided.

Welcome to the forum! Post some pics of the car when you can.
