I will be going to the dyno on friday morning with the 535!!!:Brow: I thought it would be kool to see who would be the closest of my horsepower and torque :eek2: Sooooo just for fun and for a decal that says "if you cant drive a buick why go at all" Make your best guess with this info 1970 GS 455 its 535 CI with a 1050 holley best pass sideways at BG was 1018 @131.20 AND the car weighes 4000 + lbs with driver:eek2: :eek2:
Ok Gary I will be scaleing the car at BG just for the record :Brow: Wheres your torque guess????o No:
according to my calculator, you need 800 h.p. to go 10.04 @ 135, in a perfect situation. you wont get perfect here and these conversions miss sometimes a little. i may be short but that is my guess......... 800 h.p. ooops torque is about 740 ft. lbs.( i dont know) o No: :beer later...................
Is it a chassis dyno? Or engine stand dyno? Are we talking flywheel HP or rear wheel HP? All the HP calcs I use say about 749 HP - and one claims that to be at the rear wheels. If it is indeed RW HP, and accounting for the 20% loss through the drivetrain your flywheel HP needs to be about 935. Torque? o No: How's 750 sound? Flywheel or rear wheel? Take your pick. I haven't a clue.
