I'm very sorry to here of the passing away of your father, my deepest condolences to you and your family. It's sounds as if his legacy will live on through you, which is an excellent tribute to him. Jim Burek P.A.E. ENTERPRISES
To Daves son, In the last few years I have lost 3 of my best friends, my dad, my borther in law, and my racing buddy of 35 years. I know the pain is great. But I can tell you that over time you will treasure and honor the memory of your dad. You will run into people like those on this board that will tell you of some little or great effect he had on their lives. Treasure that and remember him. My little story is just the kind email with the pictures of my Buick that your dad took of my GSX at Frankenmuth 2 years ago. It was the first show that I went to with my car. The email made me very proud that someone thought enough of my Buick to take a pic and write me. I am very sorry I never had a change to meet your dad in person. If you need anything from the Buick community in Michigan just ask. Someone will be there to help. My deepest sympathies. Doug Gorton
Wow, I am shocked to read this. I never met Dave, but thru email and on the board here, felt like I knew him. Something like this really makes you take stock of your life, and mortality. I want to express the condolences of the guys who run the board here, and certainly extend our deepest sympathy. If you need anything, all you have to do is ask. In honor of your Dad, we have dedicated the "Regals with Extra Cylinders" forum to him, as a tribute to his passion for these cars, and the help he gave to others. In 10 years, someone will ask.. "Who was Dave Dixon".. and we will tell them. He will not be forgotten. JW
I've been away from the board for a few days..... I'm totaly shocked....! I would like to offer my condolences to you and your family as well Your father's is the first Buick Regal 455 Project car I ever laid eyes on , he has inspired and helped along the way while building mine, through this board. Dave... thanks for your inspiration and may your legacy live on!!:TU: I wish I had the chance to meet him. He will be missed:ball: My families prayers to you and yours ......
So sorry to hear about your loss...I enjoyed your Father's presence here on the board, he knew what he was talking about, that's for sure. You and your family are in our prayers. God Bless, James
I am so sorry to hear this. I knew Dave a little since he bought my old KB headers and a set of ARP rod bolts, and probably some other stuff to, so we have talked a few times about all things Buick. :beer Here is a salute to you Dave. Tom and Yvonne Wustrack
WOW I just saw this post and still can't believe it. Dave was a very good man and will be missed. Hope the family is doing as well as they possibley can.....
Our thoughts & prayers to your family. I also have a big block G-body. I have picked up many ideas and alot of inspiration from your father and his car. I hope you drive and enjoy it as I am sure he would have liked that.
Wow. I'm sorry to hear of your sudden loss. Dave's user ID was always a familiar sight on this board. I did not know him, but I always assumed if I ever had a G-Body, that he'd be the one to talk to. I see now, that was very true. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
Thanks for the condolenses. The only thing that we're sad about is that he never got to hear his new engine sitting on the engine stand run. Thanks for all of your support. I will use the same user name so keep an eye out for me. I'll be posting throughout the installation of the engine. I'm sure he'll be thinking of all of your projects while driving on the golden asphalt.
Hey Daves Son, If you don't feel like typing for awhile we understand. But whats your name? Also I'd like to welcome you to this board, although I wish it was under different circumstances. You'll find that your Dad had lots of friends here and was very well respected. I expect you'll recieve the same treatment.
I'm very sorry to hear of your loss. He's helped a lot of us through the board. His presence will be missed. As others have said, if there's ANYTHING you need, please don't hesitate to ask!!
