$100 says the mustang is making more for ford than the GTO. I think many of us can agree that maybe GM needs to take a few notes from it's blue ovaled friend. :Brow:
Chris - Nice work!! Can you set them back in the same area as the '02 Camaro SS? Not looking to step on any toes here, but all the LS1/LS6 bashing isn't all that warranted. This is one of the best designed GM engines ever!! Quite frankly, it has more Buick characteristics than Chevy!!! When you think of a deep skirted block, with tall narrow intake ports - you think Buick!! I suspect there were plenty of Chevy guys that weren't thrilled that the LS series engines didn't even resemble the traditional SBC....until they drove one!!! Personally, I'd love to see a RWD version of the GTO, but with the SC3800!! Would be nice to get the 6 spd. too!!! As alot of you have mentioned, it needs more 'character' than the current GTO.
Hmmmmmmm... I like the addition of scoops. Aren't the 66 "scoops" up forward on the hood? Maybe something like them could get a little retro?
HMmm.....the scoops look good, but, prolly too close to what Pontiac has planned. I kinda like the "Power Bulge" hood of the Turbo cars - which recons back Directly to the '69 GS hood :Brow:
Does anybody else think that the last 2 pics look like a mitsu galant? I liked the gnx version myself.. just needs black wheels and as little chrome and badging as possible
Congrats!!!! That's where those headlights were stolen from. I don't know what you win, but I applaud you! :beer
Scoops have more of a GS flavor now!!:bglasses: How about more of a '95-'99 style Riv front end? Keep up the good work!!:TU: :TU:
The best concept Buick has had in 20 years is the Blackhawk. Yeah it looks like a '39 but at least it has MUSCLE. 455 cubic inches :3gears: Shure the GN's proved V6 power but the V6 marketing of the fuel/emmissions '80's is gone:blast: . If detroit keeps pushing the 6 as a muscle car then every cracker head with a 292, 270, 225 6 thats over 30 years old is going to be a "muscle car" to the kids. As far as designs all of the auto manufactures are producing vehicles to pass. Pass fed regulations, EPA regulations and pass the public off to "This is a new car. It's hot and trendy and you REALY need a car that is 4-wheel-drive and can be used as a pick-up. Your niehbors are buying one and theirs has a flatscreen." That concept smittydawg showed earlier looks like a Riv rear mated to a Y-Job front and a fat lady fell on it. When is style going to take presidence over some engineer with a german accent cocerned about drag coeficients. Where is Harley Earl and Vergil Exner when you need them?:ball: Okay thats my ranting for this month:rant: Here's a pic of the Blackhawck http://www.conceptarchive.com/absol...ick_blackhawk/buick.blackhawkshowcar.f3-4.jpg
Guys I don't care what it really looks like, but it must be virsion 3 or 4 of Chris's. As far as power. How about the double overhead cam engine buick sold to caddy that became the northstar. 6-speed or 5-speed .
GM better wake up. With Ford and the new Mustang and Chrysler has just introduced this. I believe this to be my very first new car.The new V8, rear-wheel drive 300C. It looks like a car!! Has a base price of 22,970 and fully loaded 32,370 The only problems are it's a 4 door the interior looks a little cheap abd the rear could use a little more styling.
I don't know what to think of that... I'm not sure if I like it or not. Never felt so confused over seeing a car before. I definitely like V8 RWD! Maybe that's why I'm conflicted about it- good drivetrain, strange looks.
Hips Please! Can any of you PhotoShop VanGogh's put a little hip on that prototype? Look at the concept car for a good idea of what I mean. Drop the belt line just after the door and give a little swell to the rear fender. I think that would take some of the slab sided blandness out of the car.
Actually try a Ghia. Chrysler commisioned Ghia in the 50's to build alot of the concept vehicles. The roofline is close to the '55 300. High beltline low roof. FoMoCo owns Ghia now so no more outragous designs. BTW. What is the deal with the Blackhawk. Was this just a "See what we could/use to do." for the 100th anniversary. They should build it .
