Im actually getting it for 950 i figured with everything should put me at around 1600-1700

 

I looked at Moser and it would be around 2700 with using a bunch of parts off my old rear. Am i looking in the wrong place?

I was thinking about a spool rear,..but in the grand scheme when paying 2k wats another $500?

The 9in from QP is the best bang for the buck for a mail order rear due to the fact you can upgrade it over time if you wish to do more with the car, otherwise a 8.5 from Trick or JD is more than adequate for what you have

 

If you want a 9” rear. My boss has one 3.70 gears spooled and wilwood disc brakes.
I believe hugger spoke to him in detail.

Not my deal and trying to put 2 good people together.
Me, I love 12 bolts. Look and ease of upgrades.
That is what is in my Buick GS. 342 gears.
I have a moser 9”. But make over 800hp in my Chevelle.

 

Very true. 8.5 is as good as 12 bolt in many cases.
And bolt in axles a plus. Tho my c clip moser axles been 9s.
Been there n done that.

8.5" is a really good rear. My car went a 1.52 60' with stock axles, stock GM posi and 3.90 gears.
I ended up breaking an axle tube away from the center section. Rear was from a 1972 Skylark 350.

 

I looked at this rear end, looks like a nice unit and has disc brakes too.......but for me I need to be able move my spherical joints in and out the center the bridge cage I use, the plate metal bushings ears wont allow me to do that.

I dont remember if it had a spool or posi. But seemed like a good deal for the asking price
