Malthus was wrong then and is wrong now. All thanks to capitalism and people like Norman Borlaug. If we had followed many of Malthus' advocates back in the day, we would be conducting mass sterilizations of "indesirables" (usually the poor and those with extra pigmentation).

The Peak Oil people are from the same school of thought. We have been running out of oil since 1910. Obviously, everything is finite, but don't appear to be near that point yet.

Didn't think of that! We always buy our fish and lobster from the mom and pop stores anyway. Nice and fresh, and only a few bucks a pound.
Hmmmmm, sure could go for some lobster right now.

He was domonstrably wrong from his first assertions to his final conclusions :Smarty:

And his intellectual children have caused the world unfathomable harm and misery:af:

The most idiotic part is that most of the adherents of his philosiphies dont even know who they came from:rolleyes:

Wow, first Malthus now Norman Borlaug:TU:

If we had a bunch of old farmers running the show things would not be as they are. No one wants polution. I take my kids to Northern New York to Gouverneur (home of the lifesaver...candy that is) where my family is from. The Oswegatchie river is finally coming back to life. The paper mill polluted the river back in the 60's and killed everything. Now the Sturgeon have returned and my children can now enjoy catching them. My father had enjoyed catching Sturgeon that were 5 foot long.

But I also think that Global Warming is a bunch of @%$#!!! Just a waste of our time and money. I'm all for conserving the environment for our children just like most people with common sense are. Can't say I'm to fond of landfills either but where are we gonna put our garbage??

So to tie this into Buicks.... well I am able to put 3 full size fishing poles , camping gear, cooler (to bring up beer and to bring back whatever I shot or caught), guns & ammo...ect in the trunk and two boys in the back seat... maybe even a wife if she is in a good mood.:Brow:... and drive to Gouverneur. Not to mention I will be driving a 70 with no emissions (yep even in ny) that gets better mileage than my 2005 Yukon..... Oh yea and I have been known to drive the garbage to the dump in GS... yep I'm a redneck!!!

back to the OP, great marketing ploy. I think I read somewhere that 72% or some similar number of all aluminum found in consumer products today is recycled. So, while they are telling the truth, the other makers are foolishly not marketing this fact as well! I think it is great as anyone ignorant enough to buy this product could be throwing that extra money toward some other well-intentioned road to Hell with more negative consequences for the rest of us.

Yet another example where market forces prevail to the advantage of the rest of us! :TU:

Are you telling me that having the country run by professional politicians (who haven't worked in the private sector a day in their lives) and lobbyists is a bad idea??

They had a great sense of dignity and integrity. They had common sense. They earned everything they owned. But have you ever seen an old farmers buildings? They were not concerned with proper construction practices.
And yes things would not be run by greedy self serving people.

And they are doing a fine job burning a ton of dollar bills to heat the same building that a $40.00 ton of coal would have.

    Just for the record:

Any job that requires 6 people to complete will have 12 people if the government is in charge but only 3 people if it is run by Capitalists.

And that boys and girls is what is wrong with this country.

Any one who thinks the EPA doesn't make law, is only half right, and it's not the half that counts. Agency agenda and power get expanded everyday via the adminstrative rule process. Rules have the force of law, but do not require legislative votes. It is one of the ways Governors and Presidents perform power grabs. The second way the EPA grabs power is by taking big issues to a sypathetic judge/judges. Additionally, the EPA actually funds other third party (Sierra Club) law suits with our money.

A dog that we are babysitting for woke me up at 4 AM this morning so I am in a grumpy mood. Someone mentioned stupid people. I know a local tire dealer that will fill your tires with Nitrogen for $5 each. Don't people realize that their tires are 79% filled with nitrogen anyway?:Dou:
