I'm going to reuse my head bolts, but should I go with arp rod bolts, or will the stockers be fine? I'd like to keep the stock ones, but don't want things coming apart if I romp on it a little.

Stock hardware will be fine for stuff up to 400hp or regular runs up to 5500, any more rpm or hp id definitely be doing arp hardware thruout. Ive run stock hardware on a mid 12 sec car with no problems drove it daily to highschool and beat on it all the time even downshifted into 1st from like 45 one time, it lived a long life

Will I need to have the rotating assembly balanced? My machine shop said the block will only need a hone, so I'm keeping stock size pistons, just going to get the t/a high compression cast pistons. Keep in mind this is not going to be a race car, just a nice cruiser, I will stomp on it from time to time.

"Have to" is pretty strong. It's really up to you for the use you describe. I'd probably have the rods balanced and the pistons balanced before assembly. Just makes it run more smoothly.

Ok thanks for the advice! Sorry for all the questions, this is my first build I'm doing all on my own, let's hope it turns out ok!

Got my block back a while ago, waiting on some '70 pistons to arrive from another member here. Then I will really dive into the build. Will post updates as I go, and probably have many questions too! Hugger, I tried to pm you but it says your inbox if full, I'm looking for parts and since your pretty close to me thought I'd see if you had anything.
