If I am not mistaken, Ed Balling is still around, but he always kept a low profile for reasons that I will not explain. Unfortunately I do not know what happened to the Dip blue GS.

I recall in the mid to late 1980s hanging out with the street racing crowd here in Columbus, and Ed would trailer that car to one of the hang-outs (Central Point, West Belt, etc) and negotiate a race before he ever pulled it off the trailer. He won A LOT of races. Car would lift the front wheels even with limited traction on the street. Car was originally a 4-speed if memory serves. I will do a little digging, and try to find out the disposition of his car.

And as soon, as I finish up some Buick RaceDay 2011 stuff, I'll get my videos out, have from '92-98 and then some from '05-'06 the Wild One put on DVD for me already!

I remember those staging lanes taking hours to get thru. Hundreds of cars racing......... Now its like a dozen or so compared to then.

Wow, really? I have not been to a GSCA Nationals since 91 or 92. I guess it's changed alot. I remember Jarvis Allen driving his 1970 GS Stage 1 from Charlotte, NC, winning his class in the car show and driving it back home. And he wasn't the only one, most of the cars in the show were driven there. And most of the cars in the show also raced! Just about the only cars that were trailered were the pure race cars.
I wouldn't trade those days for anything...

When ther was a GS club of Ontario , he was in it . his father had a awesome 68 or 69 GS . I think his name was Dave . I would have to look at my old newsletters as my memory is not what it use to be. :)
