Some places just have more unusual things happen than others.
My wife (then girlfriend) and I were walking in the field near my parents house one afternoon. We were about a mile out from the road, and it was starting to get dark. I told her we should start back- there were some bad things that went on out there after dark. A lot of not so nice people would come out there to party.
We started down the trail, which declined about 40 feet in half the distance, and then rose again before the road. As we were descending, I saw someone cross the path about 150-200 ft. ahead. It didn't look quite right. The way he (it?) moved was strange- jerky and floaty at the same time. I felt a chill, and a sense of danger. We walked a little further. I stopped her and said "if something should happen, I want you to run as fast as you can to the road. Don't stop, and don't look back- just go". She replied, "you saw that too?". At that moment, it felt like I had swallowed my heart.
Needless to say, we decided to run at that point.
When I got back to my parents house and told them what we had seen, they knew somehow exactly what it was. My mother described it down to the flowing hair on it's head that looked almost as if it were under water instead of in air. It turns out that many different people had seen this over the years. It was somewhat of a neighborhood legend.
My aunt's old house was known to be haunted. My dad was sleeping at her house and had woke up in the middle of the night to find someone standing over him. The same thing happened to my cousin's boyfriend who was sleeping on the couch one night. My mother also felt someone breathing down her neck as she was walking down the basement steps with a basket of laundry.

    Posessed Riviera

My first car was a 69 Riv that I got when I was 16. As luck would have it, about 6 weeks later, I rear ended someone and the Riv was put into storage. When I was in college, I got the old Riv driveable again and drove it everywhere.

Alot of strange things happened to me in that period (spooky stuff) and a good portion of it dealt with the Riv. Many times, that car drove me home from the college to the sorority house. It started in the dead of night, in the dead of Michigan winter - and yes, a testament to the strength of Buick engineering, but a car in it's condition really shouldn't have been so reliable.

Here's the weird thing - it was reliable for me, but not other people. It would cooperate with me. One instance - my mom was riding with me and both passenger and driver windows were down. We got home and she tried to put the window up on the passenger side. It wouldn't budge. Tried a few times, nothing. It would go up from the switch on the driver's side when I tried it. Thinking the pass side window switch was bad - I tried it a few times. Worked for me. She tried it, still wouldn't work for her????? I never had a problem with the windows before or after that.

Another instance, I'm driving alone, the windows were up, but no heat on (must have been a chilly day). All of a sudden, the car fills up with the smell of cigar smoke. Strong, old man type cigar smell. It lasted a couple minutes and was gone after I 'spoke' to 'it'. 'It' referring to what (who)ever brought the smoke with them, and that all played along with other strange things that were happening, non-car related, but too long to get into here.

The weirdest thing - I had a bunch of spooky things happen in the sorority house. We thought it was haunted. One night, I came home in the Riv and parked. The power locks had been locked by me on the way home (bad neighborhoods). I had never had any problems with the locks before. I parked, hit the switch to unlock the doors, there was a clunk, but the driver door wouldn't open. I pulled up on the lock knob, it seemed to be up all the way, but the door still wouldn't open. I tried the same thing with the passenger side, retrying the switch and the knobs manually several times. After a few minutes, I was 'allowed' to get out of the driver's side, and able to relock the doors fine.

I walked up to the house with my bookbag over my shoulder. As I walked across the porch, one of the 4x4 vertical support studs fell and struck my book bag and then fell to the porch. I had not touched it or been near it, and the porch had not been in a state of disrepair. Had I been a few moments earlier or later, the 4x4 would have hit me in the head. I am thoroughly convinced that the Riv delayed me for the purpose of keeping me from getting beaned.

Anyway, I actually believe that the Riv was looking out for me during that period of time. :)

    Ghost in your closet?

The ghosts I know of exist only in the closets of some people. The closet doors may be open soon. May the hauntings begin! BOOOOOOOOOOO.

What I want to know is this:

When people wake up in the middle of the night and there is someone standing over them, or there is a person standing by their bed... what then?

Do the apparitions just disappear? Do they walk away? Do the people in bed blink or shake their heads and rub their eyes then the ghost is gone???

Just wondering what happens net in a situation like that?

Hey David, me too. LOL. It always brings a smile to me when virtually non of this gost, angel, devil, spirit, alien crap could ever be duplicated under extreme labratory conditions. It's all a pile of steam'n you know what. That's why I like the shows that debunk this stuff, like Penn and Teller's "Bull S**t" show on cable.

Once I was helping a friend film a 8MM movie scene. We had lights on and were filming an outdoor scene in a riverside park. After we turned off the lights to put away the equipment a guy hurriedly walked across some adjacent railroad tracks heading toward the river and he was looking down like he had a lot on his mind. He was dressed like a seaman with navy pea coat slacks and knit hat. A couple of months later(which would have meant he was wearing that stuff in the summer) A local TV Station did a Halloween series on local ghosts and legends. You guessed it. The guy has been seen by other people in the area around the same time of day which was sundown. He was a captain or a pilot who committed suicide by jumping in the river back in the late 1800s.

    Spooky numbers

    The date of the attack: 9/11 - 9 + 1 + 1 = 11

    September 11th is the 254th day of the year: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11

After September 11th there are 111 days left to the end of the year.

    119 (DD/M) is the area code to Iraq/Iran. 1 + 1 + 9 = 11

Twin Towers - standing side by side, looks like the number 11

The first plane to hit the towers was Flight 11

Exactly 911 days after the attack on the Twin Towers moslim fundamentalists bombed several trains in Madrid-Spain on march 11th and killed 200 civilians

That 's spooky and today a kind of a follow up here in the Netherlands:

Three and a half years ago on may sixth (5-6 = 5+6= 11) a politician here was murdered "for speaking his mind" against moslim and enviromental fundamentalists a few days before elections (he could even made it even to prime-minister).
Today exact 911 days later the very well known and popular dutch filmmaker and columnist Theo van Gogh (yes, family of the painter) was brutally killed by a moslim fundamentalist. Theo was controversial: one of his films this year was about violence against women in islamic society (Submission). Just today he was finishing his latest film about the assasination of the politician who died 911 days ago.
Today, the day Theo died, is the second of november: 11 2:

    9/11 = 911 Emergency's Phone number in the USA

Now you may guess what the Emergency's Phone number is within this country

    11 2

PS: With this reply I 'm not intendenting to point a finger at any group of people, religion or whatsoever. It was just too "spooky" not to let you know

A lot of these types of sightings have been seen by more than one person, repeatedly. You should do some research on that type of sighting noting where it was and what time roughly and see if anyone else has had the same experience. It's usually not a one time deal. It usually represents someone's untimely or unfortunate passing.

I'm no expert, but that's what the "experts" say.

I don't disbelieve any of it really because I can't prove otherwise. I personally have never had that experience.........except, a week or so after my father died (which is common and possibly psychological) my dad appeared to me in my supposedly sleep, pre-sleep state; and said to me with his classic sh!t eating grin, "you didn't really think I was gone did you"?

I was deeply moved by that.

These numbers can be extrapolated to the point of oblivion and it would all seem "spooky", but all of that is man made hogwash. In my humble opinion of course. :beer

My sister-in-law was very close to her Grandfather and was his nurse towards the end of his life. Before he died he gave her a gold ring to remember him by. It was a little loose so she wore a tighter ring (with a tall solitaire diamond) over it to keep it on her finger. 2 summers ago she was at a car show with her parents and was wearing the ring. Later in the day she suddenly noticed it was missing even though the outside ring was still on her finger. She frantically retraced her steps and asked everyone she saw if they had found it. No luck. A few days later she was putting on make-up in the bathroom and heard a man's laugh. She said the hair on her arms and back of her neck stood on end. Her husband was not home and her son was outside working on his truck. A few minutes later she heard Cody come in and then he yelled from the kitchen that he couldn't find a plastic baggie. Patsy went to the kitchen and opened the drawer to show him where they were. They both saw something fall from the ceiling and clunk in the drawer. They looked at eachother and Patsy moved some things in the drawer and there was Grandpa's ring.

i believe in the unexsplained because at my dad bed side in the hospital i was standing by his feet and with my right hand sqeezing the hand rail. and with the free hand i felt something hold my had and wisper in my ear that everything is going to be ok. and then one day i was sleeping and my dad came to me and told me some stuff. another time i was like little and my grandpa past away and he came to me in my sleep when i was little. so u all should believe in the un exsplained

I think this stuff is cool. I believe that several relatives and friends have visited me and my family in animal form. Owls, dogs, ravens... visiting us out of nowhere shortly after death never seen before or since.

I had a cool Deja Vu riding my bike through Kentucky. I recognised the road which is odd since I'd never been out of Oregon at the time. I turned to my buddies and discribed the scene past the curve in great detail. It freaked them out. I haven't had one as clear as that again. I'm working on Lotto numbers.

I've asked everyone I could. Nothing seems to have happened at the spot. :Do No: Maybe it was just passing through but it sure gave me a case of the goosebumps. (I've also driven past there around the same time but haven't seen anything since, I DID stay away from there during halloween though. :spank:  )
