NO. A man of vision. Must want to go fast.

I'm sure if we had stiffer GUN CONTROL laws this wouldn't have happened !!!!! :blast: Someone is sniffing too much racing fuel. Must be time for some scum sucking lawyer to file a lawsuit against the gun manufacturer.

Alan, that is not an offensive measure, if fact it is defensive. It's the green people that would find it offensive to leave the BB in. And their the one's I am afraid of. Maybe I just put V6 emblems on it...they won't know the difference.

John, Vision smision...I just want to stay alive!

Saying they deserve what they get, in this context, suggests that by condoning violence, the person deserves violence. Saying they deserve what they get, in this context, is also condoning violence; furthermore, it shifts responsibility away from the perpetrator.

Also, the perpetrator was not a kid. News reports today suggest he was not in the same reality as the rest of us.

I am familiar with many "theories" and "facts" regarding this subject matter - I'm working on an MA in Psychology. The subject is not as cut and dry, nor as "factual," as many wish to believe.

It is sad that people died. It is also sad, but unsurprising, that this thread has turned into a debate.

I find it stupid that people who never knew the man want to pass judgement on him Shame on you.You think you are better, for what reasons?

Alot of people, normal people, around DFW knew Darrell. He was one of the nicest people you ever could meet.He welcomed just about anybody into his circle.Fame did not go to his head.He partied with regular people and always had time for the fans.

He happened to be at a guitar shop here when a young kid and his dad were buying his first guitar. They were putting it on layaway.Dime signed it and put money on the layaway with him. When the Dallas Stars won the Stanley cup he threw a huge party, the cup got dented in the bottom of his pool.

Just because someone enjoyed their life and had the means to is no reason to judge them. You sir are just jealous because you do all the "right" things and still must be miserable.

So what if the guy liked to drink some and smoke a bud.I like to knock a few back myself from time to time.Does that mean I deserve to be shot in the face?! Put that holier than thou attitude back in your pocket where it belongs. You aint special.

As for the music being violent, not really just listen to it (I know you haven't) and you will hear songs against prejudice, about lost friends, lost relatives, and the effects of drug addiction on relationships with people.Violent, yep some were.Better to write a song about whipping someones ass than doing it right?Haven't you ever felt like kicking the crap out of somebody? I do sometimes, maybe even right now.

    off my soapbox

Yea, so anyone who disagrees with your way of thinking, obviously isn't having a good time in life. You have it all figured out there buddy. [IMG]

I honestly feel that whenever someone has to make statements like yours, or resort to personal attacks against others on the forum to defend the actions of a drugged out scumbag musician who called himself "dimebag" and got exactly what he preached in his music, speaks volumes about who is in fact enjoying life, and who isn't.

Have a great time at the nudie bar!!

Look at the pot calling the kettle black.

BTW I am enjoying every bit of my life.I will not die thinking "what if?"

You are the one passing judgement not myself. You are personally attacking someone you obviously never met.

You are talking about a person who, despite what you "think" he was,did good things for lots of people and had a heart as big as Texas itself.Just because he was a fun person to be around and you are obviously not,you are jealous that he is remembered and you won't be.He has touched more lives personally, than you ever will.

If it is your beleif that someone is a bad person because they led their life different from yours,You are also guilty.

Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself. You need to read up on the good book a little. I am a sinner and so are you.So cram your religious BS where the sun don't shine.

from my own point of view, more people have been abused, injured, killed and /or died under the influence and abuse of beer and country music than have because of drug abuse and rock and roll or rap. you only hear about it more with rock and rap because the victims are usually young, and the event "glamorized" [so to speak] more in the media. nobody is mourning the kid who has to grow up under the cloud of fear of daddy the 'good ol' boy' or momma 'the life of the party', who come home and crank up the depressing 'tear in my beer' music at 2:00. but when that kid rebels and turns to heavy metal music or gangsta rap and then turns a gun on others, suddenly it becomes the fault of the music :af:
and to put this into perspective for some of you, i am 43, and i grew up that way. i havent pulled a gun on anyone yet, and it wont be because of the music i listen to that i ever would. so a LITTLE understanding may be in order for the 'victim' and the 'killer' here. not judgement......

If you didn't like the guy,Move on,I thought the thread was to mourn the loss of an innocent person.

    Mike
Are you telling us that because of the lifestyle he led we are wrong for being bummed about the death?

I really wish I didn't read this crap.......Yeah we all have a common interest in BUICKS but some of this other nonsense over-shadows that fact.
It's really a bummer when you try to have a few moments to observe a tragedy and the thread gets all twisted by someone's crticism of the victims character.

    DAMN dude.......Enough.......

Its not so much the judging of his character, its the generalizations being made about his music, thats what irritates me. I wasn't a "huge" pantera fan, hell I don't even have a CD, but they are teh type of band that started a new way to make music, respect the man for that. As for the people who are making assumptions about the lyrics, you should realize that your wrong.

and for the love of god, he didn't "have it coming", or deserve it, or preach it.

Good god Jim, I am sorry for the way this thread has went down hill. Again, I always think of it this way. If it can't be said face to face, it does not belong on this board, period. Some hide behind their PC to rant.

We all have been jabbing at you lately for being the PC cop, and most of it is in good fun, but we DO really know what you want this board to be like. Most boards are full thread snipers, always looking to get it off track and shine the spotlight on themselves. I for one don't blame the censorship, feel free to put the smack down.

A man was brutally killed, along with several others. This is WRONG and SAD. If you do not agree, I feel sorry for you. I know the wheels are turning in some heads right now. Something good to say? Say it. If not, please keep it to yourself.

guys.... guys......guys, there are many sides to this story

    1. yes, some rock/rap and others promote violence, not sure about pantera

    2. no the guy didn't deserve to die

    3. yes, people are influenced by what others do (especially the youth, i believe it was said "they absorb like a spoonge" (what's good for the geese is good for the gander)

    4. the gun company will get suied, and that's really not there fault, but we live in a society that likes to point fingers, and take as much as they can get (epecially money) so they get a lawyer and bring a law suite

this world has a bunch of problems, (besides these) and they all leed in a circle, and it just keeps going, round......round.....round, till maybe one day it will all be gone, then you won't have to worry about anything anymore
