    Steve,
Just got off the phone with AED. The HO Modified uses a 750 body, and the salesman told me that it did not have enough venturi area for my 455. I ordered the 1000HO. It should work really well on my engine.

    Hi Folks:
I just wanted to introduce myself to the forums members. My name is John Dickey from AED Performance & wanted to thank alot of the members for the very kind words. We work very hard to try to provide an exceptional product at an affordable price. Several members have recently purchased our carburetors here & I thought I would check it out. I can't believe how big the V8 Buick Forum is. We would be more than happy to answer any questions or provide any advice we might have to any of the members. We have alot of technology in our plant with 2 dyno's, CNC machining centers, Computerized "Wetflow Bench" we built just for carburetors, total induction flow benches, & Cad-Cam software. Please check us out at www.aedperformance.com & don't hesitate to call or write for anything we can do. We've been in business for 25 years & learn everyday. Unfortunately we don't know everything, & will tell you when we don't.

    Thanks Again

    John,

Any time we get attention from the aftermarket it's greatly appreciated. I've heard only positives regarding AED.

I have one ? concerning this topic. When I installed my bbb in my car a few months back, I did'nt plumb a fuel return back to the tank. I'm not having any problems, but I am running a 950 Quickfuel also. My concern is if I put a 750 edel on just to finish the winter (no chock on 950) do you think I would have problem with to much fuel for the 750? I also have a stage1 fuel pump.

    Hi Dariggs:
You shouldn't have any problem at all. Most of the mechanical pumps have less than 7psi fuel pressure which will be fine for the Edelbrock. All the fuel metering is handled by the carburetor so unless you have probably over 8psi (doubtful) you will be fine.

    Good Luck

Does the 1000 AED have annular boosters?

    aedmonster,

Thanks for taking time to come to our board. Your carbs are great, but you being on here to answer any questions makes things even better! I have only heard good things locally about your product and I will now join the team. The carb on my car works much better than my former Demon.

Good question. And the answer is.....

    To Bad67GS:
No it doesn't use annular boosters. We have found the annular boosters with this carburetor has some issues unless you add an additional fuel circuit (Intermediate circuit) like on a Dominator. With some manifolds there's distribution issues with this body shape & annular boosters. We have run into this with BB Chevy's in testing. With the annular booster fanned spray pattern there appears to be a wall attachment issue with certain intakes & spacers so we stay away from them with the large HP mainbody. I'm just making an educated guess about the wall attachment but you see it in the exhaust temps as they move all around. A booster change or an intermediate circuit dials it right out. The intermediate circuit works great, but the added cost of metering blocks & additional machining runs the price up too much for a Pro-Street type carburetor. We also make our own Billet Boosters for this app. that make some additional torque & power with this configuration. We have found the booster Holley uses for there 1000 to also have some issues with reduced signal strength especially with bad air, so we use a different booster in our 1000HO carb. The different booster will broaden the band & increase acceleration which is the key, even more important than power. Hope this helps.

    Take Care

Is a 1000 carb also possible on a stock BBB engine 430ci for
more power? Will it have more power when i just change with the original
quadrajet? Or do i have to do more modifications first?

John told me that they had alot of problems with them "melting" in the Northeast. It isn't the ethanol, but some other additive in the gas here.
