Why can't they make a show where they actually show helpful info on the builds. So that not all the parts a coming from factory sponsors that most people could never afford. I watch alot of these shows to try and catch tidbits, but most of the time I end up feeling like why bother because I know there will be no way to come close this build. Here's another idea, spend more than one episode on the car. Do multiple cars if need be but actually take the time to relay useful knowledge.

I must of dozed off. I thought they put a ford 351 Modified 2bbl from a 77ish Ranchero. They did state something about that is was bored over .030? making 400hp. Imagine if it was a 4bbl.

It was my first watching. I love seeing the old cars and thought it may be something, but I'm not sure it's a tie with American Idol and the Dentist.

The bean counters employed by the producers watched too much Orange County Choppers. They saw that when there was deadlines and tempers were raised the viewership increased. So now thats all they know. How if you own the auction, you own the cars you have the employees already would you loose money by taking the time to get the thing right.
I thought they bought a 351 modified which is like a cleveland but not and like a 460 but not. It was a smog motor and not really worth anything. SO a 390 with water in the oil isn't worth pulling? Really?
I quit watching it was too painful

I thought I saw the Malibus too, but they went by too fast to be sure.

I'm getting the impression that they don't much about anything. Did you hear the dad say that George Barris designed the General Lee? How about the son saying that the hood ornament was the easiest way to identify a Chevy as a '56?

I guess that just proves that you shouldn't believe everything you hear on TV.

I almost pissed my pants laughing, watching them trying to be Junk Yard Police. That raccon made them run the other way, just think if they had come across a real person.

The young lady they had trainging them wasn't to hard on the eye's though, I love a women that carrys a gun on her hip :blast: .

I agree, the show could be much better, they do look like a bunch of jerks just trying to make a buck at the buyers expence.

All these shows have one thing in common: using popular years and models (GM A bodies, Mustangs, Chargers, Chevy Tri Five) for which reproduction parts are widely available on the market.
Guess we will never see an episode where they will build a 60's/70's Safari, Catalina, Ninety Eight, Wildcat, 300, Imperial etc etc from scratch (back to (almost) original)

First episode I saw was with the '60 something Ford Fairlane or Galaxy, what a joke. I too would rather wander around the yard looking for Buick parts while drinking a 6 pack and enjoy the old cars in the desert.
