I just expanded my collection to include a new Walther PDP 4” Compact 9mm. A very nice weapon and it functions very, very well.

I have a 45 caliber percussion cap Ruger pistol as well. I am kinda afraid to load it and shoot it though...

Pat shooting black powder firearms is a blast.:D Flintlock is fun. Cap is safer.
Load a single rnd and try it. After awhile you will become a fan.

I hear ya Pat,always worried me after an ole timer told me about watching out for chain fire when he offered to let me use his cap & ball revolver & explained it.
Still bought a few over the years but never fired anything other than my favorite ole “Thunder “ that I it together (CVA kit).
Here’s an extremely informative video on firing the wheel type cap and balls and explaining some of the reasons that can be avoided for chain fires.

Until then I am stickin to “Thunder”:)

Why carry a gun when your gun can carry you?

I carry a Benchmade knife these days around where I live. And when I am going into Columbus (or traveling) its either Khar P9 or a G19 with super hot 9mm ammo. I have had them both for 20 years or so and 1000's of hours concealed. I left the part of Columbus that "required" carry about 17 years ago. It is refreshing. I rarely carry, as I had enough of it from 2000 to 2013. Just me personally. The novelty of ccw wore off, and having a small child with me most of the time made me think about escape vs fighting. I carried in Ohio for more than 5 years before the ccw law was passed for civilians. Again, just my experience. Carry what you can consistantly hit the target with, regardless of the caliber imo.

I open-carried for years in the Navy doing my rounds about the ship as a Gunners Mate. I recently bought a conceal carry waistband holster for m Springfield XD40 and I tell ya what.... I can't figure out where to put it where I can comfortably move around in it. At the 2 o'clock location where I figured I'd have it, my belly gets in the way plus sitting down doesn't work. It's a right hand holster so I can reach across my body (not idea) all the way to the 10 o'clock location or have it all the way back at 5 before I am unable to easily reach it... I'm feeling that 5 o'clock may be the answer but I had no idea how uncomfortable a CC holster would be.

My build does not warrant a comfortable conceal carry option. I usually just keep it in my back pack that I use for work, or locked in my glove box. I use either the Walther PPS, Glock 19, or my favorite the HK VP9SK (all 9mm).

Neighbor and I shot our compacts yesterday, Hellcat and 365xl

Accuracy was a joke compared to our full size pistols.
    Joke!

How about a Sig P365 9mm that holds 12+1 rounds and weighs only 25 oz fully loaded. Or, a Ruger LCP MAX .380 that holds 10+1 rounds and weighs only 14 oz. fully loaded. Pocket holsters made for both guns but your guy can fix you up.

These are my daily pocket carry guns. The larger gun if my pants/shorts pockets are loose enough. The .380 will fit any pocket including blue jeans.

I like the looks and reviews on that new Kimber R7 Mako, but I see there was a recall on them?
