Noticed the firewall is body color. Is this correct for an Estate Wagon or maybe the assembly plant (Fairfax KS)?

It wouldn't stand up to close-up srutiny but they sure do work on a smaller level.

Looks black to me! Both of my cars have been from Fairfax, and the firewalls are black.

Looks body color to me. Here's a different look.

 

It's the light from the sun shining on the firewall.

Look as the color of the firewall in the shadow of the air cleaner.

In the first picture I posted look at the fender & firewall and then the heater box. Heater box sure is black....firewall?
