    yes your right with it

this country was built on freedom and through the years we have we are losing it more and more..........the saying goes we have the freedom of choice and a freedom of speach...............well the freedom of speach can only go so far, there is a limit on that, and the freedom of choice.............man ill tell you about that.........if the government wants you to do something they will make sure you do it................has anyone ever hear the ( THE MARK OF THE BEAST)?????? this is where everyone in the society will have to have a bar code on a visible part of the body for credit..........there won't be any money anymore, it will be like credit points, all done through the computer, and if the government want's this done believe me they'll make sure of it, and if you don't accept the mark you will be left for dead, you will not recieve food, water, clothes, all the necceitys for living.........

i think that the government is 90% controlled by satan...........and that goes for all governments.......but there will be a day where satan will rule NO MORE and there won't be all this bad **** you hear about, and people will be fair, kind, willing to help others without question..................i long for that day.............may we still have hotrods tho................cause i love to drive fast:TU:

P.S. especially the buicks we can't lose those

If you stripped away the party labels and all the BS flying around I'd guess that most of us want about the same things.

I want to be able to drive my cars.

I want to be able to protect myself and my property.

I want the chance to do better if I choose to.

I want to take home most of my paycheck! :TU:

I want the freedom of choice!

No system is perfect but I feel we have the best thing going, we just need to make sure we don't lose it!

*steps on soapbox* This country wasn't founded on socialism or communism and if it heads too far in that direction I'm afraid it will fail. *steps down off soap box*

I should pay better attention! Ultra conservative is not where I stand, but I can say I'm more conservative than not.

    And Merry Christmas again! :TU:

    Hillary?

I guess an important question for this forum is: Is Hillary pro-Buick? It seems to me like she would drive a Acura!

With all of their software, the FBI has probably been following this thread more closely than any of the bb members....

    On environmentalists:
I'm a miner and an environmentalist. All that I ask of other environmentalists is not to believe everything the environmental special interest groups tell you. Check it out for yourself. Mining is like any other industrial process, it isn't perfect but can be done reasonably.

Remember that everything that you use was either grown or mined.

    Facts of interest????

Happy Holidays from Redneck Tennessee!!!! Two FACTS of interest. One is a democratic fact, the other is a fact that is a damn shame!

To win the presidency, all Al Gore had to do was win Tennessee. As you are aware, he lost the state of Tennessee's 11 electoral votes and the popular election here in his home state.

Now the rest of the story. Not only did he lose the state, he lost the popular vote in his old congressional district. Not only did he lose the state and his old congressional district, he LOST the local precinct where he voted in his home town of Carthage Tennessee. Yes, the town of Carthage Tennessee where he started his compaign, voted for George Bush. Do the people in his home town know him? Who knows?

Second, the IRS just published the demographics for taxpayers for the tax year 2000. Remember in April we filed for 2001, so this is recent information only 1 tax year old. Check it out for yourself.

Of all the tax returns filed in tax year 2000, the top 10% in gross adjusted income of all tax returns filed (about 180 million) payed 50% of all income tax collected. The adjusted gross income for this top 10% of all wage earners was $92,400 UP in income!

The top 50% in gross adjusted income of all tax returns filed payed 90% of all income tax collected. The adjusted gross income for the top 50% of all wage earners was $54,000 UP in income!

This means that remaining 50% of the tax payers filing had an adjusted gross income of $54,000 or LESS AND THEY PAID ONLY 10% OF THE INCOME TAX COLLECTED. Yes, half the tax paying population only paid 10% of the income tax collected.

Is $92,400 up a nice income? yes! Is that rich? NO! Is $54,000 and up a nice income, Yes! Is that rich? Definitely NOT!

Folks, this is whats wrong with this country, half the population does little if anything to support our national government in the form of taxes. Sure, they may pay some local sales tax however it is not equitable (I hate the word fair) in our country for 50% of the population to only PAY 10% OF THE INCOME TAX COLLECTED.

THIS SHOULD REALLY PISS YOU OFF! Unless you are only paying 10%. I realize that everyone on this board has a wide diversity of income and we try to work hard. Just remember that the 50% that pays 10% collects 90% of the government giveaways!

I am glad I was able to brighten your day with this IRS fact.

Hey, I'm not an American. Don't forget folks that this is an international board and some of us aren't even sure what side of politics is what in your country. I vote right, what would that make me?

If you just vote you would be doing better than 3/4's of the US population. Most people in the US do not vote, but they sure as hell BITCH!

    dualqwad ...just another lost soul

I think over here that would be called an independent, unless you mean that you vote TO THE right.:puzzled:

I live here and even sometimes I can't tell the difference between the so called "party" platforms.
They seem to have merged into "Republi-crat".

Well, I guess the Australian government saw the dangers of that early on because every person over the age of 18 must register and must vote. It's the law and if you don't or can't come up with a good reason why you didn't vote (such as..."I was stuck on the highway in a broken Ford all day and couldn't get to a voting booth in time") then you will pay a fine and if you don't pay the fine you will (eventually) end up doing time or some sort of community service - which I always thought was amusingly ironic.

Those who don't want to vote can register a 'donkey' vote which means that they go to the polling booth and get their name struck off the list as having arrived and then just destroy the ballot (their vote goes to the winner so they end up voting anyway).

I like it, it makes you think a little more about the future direction of your country. Like the saying goes..."If you don't vote, you have no right to complain about the outcome". Not trying to be funny or or offend anyone but I always thought it was strange that folks in the US don't have to vote.

And...I don't have a problem with a political discussion on this site. It's only one thread and can be easily ignored. Those who feel like they want to contribute can and those who don't can just read another different thread.

P.S. Excuse my grammar but yes, I did mean that I vote TO THE right. Not very far from centre but definately to the right.

    mjs-13,

The one fact you left out is that 540,000 more Americans voted for Gore in 2000 than for Bush.

The official vote count from the Federal Register is :

    http://www.archives.gov/federal_register/electoral_college/popular_vote_2000.html

Yes, I know about the 18th century Electoral College that was created to keep the "common mob" from choosing their rulers.

Still, I have to concede your point that Gore should have carried his home state, and his failure to do so does give some legitimacy to Bush's "loser takes all" victory.:Brow:

BTW, I get up early and VOTE every chance I get (even in Republican primaries)
