Well, I guess what I mean by that is that he represented none of my beliefs and he embarrassed me as an American. I see your point. I would still rather call him "the" president instead of "my" president. But I hear ya.:beer

Let's compare Clinton's record as Commander-in-Chief against the Bush boys.

Clinton launched a war against a well-armed European nation.
Total victory. The enemy dictator (Milosevic) is now in prison being tried for war crimes and genocide.

Clinton started a attack on Haiti. Dictator Raul Cedres fled into exile.

GHW Bush attacked a third-world nation and that dictator (Saddam) is now more of a threat than before.

GW Bush also attacked a third-world nation, and it's leaders (Omar, Osama) are still at large and threatening us.

Clinton's motivations were to stop crimes against humanity.

GHW Bush's motives were to protect oil supplies and friendly dictators.

Seems to me that Clinton was a more effective military leader than either Bush.

Ken I definitely agree with the "embarrassed" part.

You know what, the fact is that both Democrats and Republicans are really similar. There are some key issues that they don't agree on, but honestly it's really hard to tell them apart. Politicians buy their way to the top-- and special interests pay to keep them there. This is the case for a lot of Republicans AND Democrats.

The party names are a joke, I hope someday our government will help make this country as great as it can be, rather than just supporting all of the special interests that can afford to get their concerns addressed.

I don't think that all this has to be as black and white as some people here make it out to be. I AM AN ENVIRONMENTALIST, but that doesn't mean I can't drive my V8 Buick!! I want to drink clean water, I want to breath fresh air. Not everyone in the country is driving a old gas guzzler-- that's why in some states there are no smog rules for older classic cars. Makes sense. Hot rodders and people who drive old cars aren't really the problem-- that's why I can be an environmentalist and still be okay with driving my Buick.

We can argue about Clinton and Bush all day long-- but the sad truth is that nothing will ever change with either of them in office. Sure, democrats were happier when Clinton was in office, and Republicans are glad than Bush is in office... but when it comes down to it, Democrats are for BIG GOVERNMENT, Republicans are for BIG BUSINESS. At the end of the day, is it really that different? Where do "the people" end up?

    Ok, lets.

Funny, I seem to remember all the liberals in Washington screaming bloody murder about how we would look as a nation if we went in and bludgeoned the poor defenseless dictator when he was had his back to the wall. He abstained from murdering the bastard to appease the liberals abound who would have called him a murderer and were worried about the way we would look to other countries around the world. You know the whole damned if you do damned if you don't head trip that the liberal left always throws on you. You don't think Bush senior wanted him dead?

Gee, who gave up THREE DIFFERENT OPPORTUNITIES to accept Bin Laden when foreign authorities basically HANDED him to us? Bill something or other.

This third world nation you refer to is thousands of square miles of mountains, deserts, and caves. I know how easy it is to find ONE PERSON in an environment like that. Certainly Clinton could have done a better job. In between hummers that is.

Pardon me while I wipe up the drool on my desk from laughing so hard.

    Read on:

    Puerto Rican Terrorists Freed
F.B.I. Director Was Opposed To Freeing Puerto Ricans
WASHINGTON -- The Federal Bureau of Investigation "unequivocally opposed" President Clinton's offer of clemency to 16 Puerto Rican nationalists, asserting that the release of most of the prisoners would reinvigorate their terrorist movement, according to a letter prepared by the F.B.I.

The letter, prepared by subordinates for the bureau's Director, Louis J. Freeh, said the clemency would be likely to "return committed, experienced, sophisticated and hardened terrorists to the clandestine movement" for Puerto Rican independence.

The letter also said the clemency would "psychologically and operationally enhance" the militant organization F.A.L.N., which killed five people and maimed 83 in the 1970's and 80's.

    The truth hurts doesn't it?

Try to remember how useless oil supplies are next time you crank over your GS to go out for a spin or next time God forbid you need to "drive" a family member to the hospital. Or when gas is $25.00 a gallon. The ONLY mistake he made was not admitting it was largely about oil. That is nothing to be embarrassed about. How many homes are heated by oil too? Plus, in the process there were millions of ungrateful Kuwaitis freed from tyranny. But I guess that's irrelevent.

If anything we should start to tap our own oil reserves so we don't have to depend on these other countries. Then you'll see how fast they become our friends when all the cash flow stops and they're starving their asses off.

Your buddy Clinton and his administration are responsible for giving some of our most top secret nuclear information to China too.

Please, don't even try to compare. There is no comparison. Your hatred for republicans is blurring your vision. It shouldn't outweigh your common sense. :Comp: :Comp:

Let me sum up Bill Clinton for you................

"I did not have sexual relations with that woman"

Well.......he did......and in the oval office. That one act showed so much lack of respect for the office. i could never take anything else seriously he did.

I look at his wife as even more dangerous. She has a brain AND and agenda. And her agenda is completely opposite of my beliefs.

Years ago, I USED TO BE a Republican, a Conservative, and a Christian.

I could inflame a whole bunch of folks of those beliefs at this point, but no good would come of it.

So, everybody enjoy the holidays and your families. Maybe someday we'll figure out why the nation is so passionately divided, and how to mend it.

    Ok, I concur,

Merry Christmas and/or happy holidays to ALL.

    I'm sorry for my rants.

Guess a Buick board is not the proper venue for this. :Dou:

Hope I haven't made any enemies. :ball:

One thing all of us can probably agree on I'm sure is the fact that we are home with our families and thankful to God we have our health and live in the greatest country in the world bar NONE. No matter who's president.

I can understand the first 2 changing but how can you just not be a christian? Thats like saying I have turned my back on GOD. If that in fact is what you have done I just added you to my personal prayer list. If you have done this I would gladly discuss your issues with GOD anytime via email or PM's in a private manner.

    Always willing to help

    Me too! :pp

No problem identifying me huh? :beer

But I must say "ultra" is a bit harsh. I am for the environment more than the ultra conservatives. I believe in a sane mix of big business and a safe environment. I don't think one should suffer greatly so the other can benefit. I agree the republicans need to work a bit harder on that issue.

I also think a woman should have the right to choose, but only at the very earliest stages. The partial birth (full term) abortions are not the view of the republican party. I definitely don't agree that on a whim a woman should be able to terminate a full term pregnancy on a Sunday when the child would have been born on the following Tuesday. That's as close to a murder as you can get without actually being charged.

Dammit, why can't I just shut my mouth. :spank:

    :beer :beer

Ya know guys. Regardless of what party if any are you in, or regardless on who you like or voted on, I feel we are all missing two strong points here.

    1. We are all under one flag one nation. The political process may not be perfect but its the best in the world right now and I always feel damn proud of it. We still have that freedom to choose and that freedom to disagree. And most of all that freedom to change things (legally and morally). Show me another country as such. This thread started with a joke and turned into a pie throwing thread. It shouldn't. Another spin off on this point is the Freedom to not read the thread. Just like a TV or radio program we may not like, so change the channel thats it.

    2. My last point and by all means is not ment to insult ANYWAY. Please lighten up here. Any polititian whether it be George or Jr. Gore Clinton or even Sharpton, they are all aware that they are subject to comments and jokes as they are in the lime light of the public. A joke is a joke, no matter who or what polititian its on. It goes with their territory. As for us, I see political jokes against people I voted on and beleive in, but I still laugh my butt off. Because I find all funny. I know there are times to knuckle under and get serious, such as a political debate, but this thread was not meant to spin into that and that subject belongs on some other website. There are times when you have to take a lighter side of life as a stress relief valve, other wise you'll grow old fast lose your hair and get ulcers plus other stress related illness. And yes I too have been on the butt end of jokes many times and I still laugh about it. If the day ever comes that I cannot find humor in life in general, then it will be time for me to pack it in this life for good. Remember life itself is way too short and fragile, just try once in a while to sit back and enjoy it instead of pressuring and stressing yourself. Unfortunately peopple have become way too political correct.

With the Hillary joke I thought it was funny. I have also seen Bush jokes equally and some even better. I love them all.

That's it for my grand standing, Hope eveyone has a safe and happy holiday (Politically correct, as I would normally say Have a Merry Christmas)
    .............ITS A JOKE MAN!

Merry Christmas Happy New Year :beer

Actually, there was one of Bush and all his different faces. But then a friend of mine found those same faces with the faces of a monkey making the same face next to GW's. Have it on my hard drive at work though. It was priceless!

    Guys,
There's nothing like Politics and Religion to get people's panties in a twist. That being said, I think we should avoid starting threads like this one. Let's concentrate on what we have in common(Being proud Americans and our love of Buicks)not what will divide us. The two party system is one of the things that make this country great. Everone have a happy and healthy holiday season:TU:

    I have to agree!

Yeah, there's getting to be to many camera's recording everything, and the government is telling us way to much of what we can and can't do.I think it's just a matter of time before they go after our cars.I tell you i will fight with a gun in one hand and a knife in the other to keep my cars.Don't get me wrong i love the US,but things are kinda getting out of hand.
I don't know whose the blame Democrats or Republicans, both i think have a hand in it.
I consider myself to be a "Conservative Democrat" if anyone cares.
Actually i don't think any politician is in office to help anyone but himself or herself.....Just my opinion.....
    Regards,Jeff
