    Friends,

Please take a moment and just look how far we have come as a country.

The Democratic National Committee is currently polling Americans through

The Internet to determine the possibility of electing Hillary Clinton for the

Presidency of the United States in 2004. If you would like to show your

support for Hillary and encourage her to run for President of the United

States in 2004 please use the link below. Your support is vital, as you

I can't stand the &^%** Dog. I would have voted for Alfred E. Newman instead of her if given a choice. And I'm a New Yorker. She is out for only herself regardless of what party she is in.

    LOVE IT!

Well, you can make fun of Hillary, in spite of her moderate voting record and praise from colleagues on both sides of the aisle.

Meanwhile, W is about to get us all into a world war to as he tries to smash yet another of his Poppy's adversaries.

If you don't like that opinion, Mike, then keep your political insults to yourself.

Michael, it seems as though you might be a little uptight yourself.
I Don't have much use for Hillary(The Beast) myself and I did not approve of alot of the things that went on when Clinton was in office but he was our president and I will respect him for that. But I would not go as far as calling him a joke.
I also respect W and for the most part will agree with the way he has handled things thus far (economics excluded).

If I were a hardcore Bush guy I might be a little dissapointed that daddy didn't take care of this little Saddam problem a few years back.

Just an opinion. It would be awfully boring if we all thought the same way. :beer

Oh BTW, ABH (ANYONE BUT HILLARY)

Man is that ever the truth!!! Even though it wouldn't have been very popular, they missed a golden opportunity back then. They could have (relatively) easily marched their way straight thru Bagdad and 'fixed the problem'.:Dou:

Well, since I didn't vote for him (Slick Willy)I would rather consider him your president and not mine. :Smarty:

People will use the economy thing as an excuse as to why a democrat in office is a better thing. Guess what? The economy was beginning to crash land way before W ever got into office. It's the natural cycle. If more had been done to control the spending insanity during those 8 years it may not have been so bad. It's just real convenient to blame W right? It's always the republicans faults. Nobody seems to be concerned about the safety of the country and us being able to defend ourselves though. Billions were shaved from the military and intelligence budgets those 8 years. But as long as the economy is good, who needs intelligence and a military right? We've got Slick Willy!

People might also argue that the terrorist attacks took place while GW was in office. Understand that these attacks were being planned years in advance. They didn't just decide, well, Clinton's out, lets attack. Sammy Sosa could have been president, it wouldn't have mattered. It is America they are after.

You know what? Clinton was an absolute disgrace to this country and to the world. Hillary is simply irrelevent, a missing place holder in the senate, scheming once again to make a bigger leap. I would hate to be a New Yorker right now for that reason alone. Do you think she really wanted to be a New York senator deep down in her heart? LOL! All of the sudden when she was running she miraculously discovered she had Jewish descendants. How convenient, seeing as though there are practically more Jews in NY than there are in Israel. One word. Plastic. In fact, being from hopelessly liberal New Jersey ain't no picnic either. Every year, my vote is basically cancelled out.

In any case the world laughed at us for 8 years and we obviously saw the light of day when Al the hopelessly liberal robot Gore ran against W for the presidency. Yeah I know, he "stole" the election. Whatever

People were sick and tired of the spiraling moral contempt taking place in the highest office in the land, seeing that Bill and Hillary actually hated each other (they couldn't hide it no matter how fake the smiles were), getting "serviced" in the oval office by someone other than his wife and then lying about it, then admitting it, but saying it wasn't really sex. Good message to send to the children of America huh? Simply put, a pathetic individual and human being no less "my" president. [IMG]

Letting Bin Laden slip away on 3 separate occasions didn't really help either.

But hey, we should still respect him right?

There is not enough room on my hard drive to hold all the words of contempt I feel for clinton. He was without a doubt the most ridiculous president this country ever had to endure and we will pay for his stupidity and immorality for years to come. Hopefully there are not enough idiots in this country for hillary to get elected. Let us pray it never happens.

Without getting into the Democrat vs. Republican fight.(I'll have my annual discussion with my liberal sister and brother in law )
I voted for Clinton the first time around because I never could stand George senior. and have to say I was very very disappointed with the way Clinton's administration ended up.
I figured, here's a young guy that is promising a very open form of Government.
We are going to have more input, and know more about what is going on regarding policy decisions with these so called "town meetings", use of the internet for interacting with our government... yada yada yada.

I am more than satisfied so far with our current President. He has brought back to the office a sense of formality and respect that was lacking during the casual Friday type of attitude the Clinton White House had.
He's standing up to those who would do us harm. Funny how Cinton wasn't able to get Saddam's attention!
As far as the economy, It started to slide in late '99. (my industries sales started to drop in '99) Before President Bush held the office.
Everyone blames Carter for the hard times of the 70's but they forget that Carter inherited that economy from Gerald Ford (remember the win buttons?) who inherited it from Nixon.
And I quite frankly fail to see what control the President actually has over the economy other than being a cheer leader for the rest of us.
In my opinion it is more dependent on what we do as consumers, investors, business owners. We are the driving force behind the economy.
The nineties did well more from an attitude of optimism than anything else.
The incredible rise in the stock market was able to be maintained as long as everyone believed in it. As soon as doubt was cast, it dropped.

    politics

    guys:
is this really the forum to debate politics? i am canadian and, thus, i can sit back & view your politics with an open mind. i love to watch crossfire on cnn .
one thing about u.s. politics, you are either on the left or on the right - there is no happy medium ! how can u berate clinton for his morals ? how about wilson, kennedy, johnson, eisenhower ?
    what about their women ?
clinton let the wrong head do his thinking . however, he was probably the most highly educated president u have had and also the best orator . we canadians can just shake out heads at how
dumb bush jr appears to be . think his main purpose in life is to finish the job george sr failed to do in iraq .
    thats my 2 cents worth.

I think that was one of the things that Reagan did so well!! He really got people to believe in themselves and that things would improve! Thankfully, he helped to get the military built up strongly - we were able to take advantage of all that during Desert Storm!:TU:

Ken I agree with your comments and feel the same way(for the most part). I do however think that your "not my president" comment is ridiculous. The way I understand it is this: If you are standing on the ground that is this country and you salute the same flag that I do, and if you mourn for the fallen men and women that have died to protect that freedom that goes along with that flag then guess what. He IS your president just as he was mine.

I'm sure my father wasn't very happy about getting drafted at 18 and having to fight in Vietnam. Luckily he came back safe but many did not. I'm not sure how he feels about his leader sending him over there and I don't ask. I think we can all agree that it was a bad war and "maybe" we shoudn't have been there but I have never heard him say that.

My point is only this. Wether you agree with the man in office or not you should try and support him because like it or not he IS your president.

I think W is doing a good job but even if I despised him he is MY president and I will respect him.

NO flames intended guys, just a friendly discussion amongst Buick lovers. :beer

One's amount of education means little. Ben Franklin had little to no education.

Even Harvard makes mistakes. Kissinger taught there.

    Re: politics

Clinton may have been a good orator and highly educated, but so what? He sucked as a president. Is there supposedly something you know that I don't about the great Clinton legacy. If so, please fill me in. Since you're so "neutral" , tell me what Bill Clinton's claim to fame is and how he helped the USA. Besides the great family values.

I guess we should be proud that he was able to score with an internin the oval office. :TU: It's none of our business anyway though right? It was his personal sex life. Well, guess what, as soon as he became (puke) my president, it became MY BUSINESS.

But hey, at least he was highly educated and a great orator.

He would have made a great used car salesman because he sold the American citizens on the fact that he was the man for the job. Only he meant the wrong "job".

Gerry, you need to know that I am not bashing you or anyone else on this board. Just understand that political discussions can get heated and that's the way it goes.

Make fun of the two party system as much as you want. Nothing is perfect, but in fact, it works, and it works well. Thank God we have it too, because both sides keep each other in check. Sometimes it's counterproductive but more often it works amazingly well for close to 300 million people.
