That was my 76 Century before the latest pain job. It will be getting a fresh coat of metalic blue this summer cuz just got a good paint gun.... Here are the pics, some old some new: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/562863/1 I'm looking for a nice 73 Century 2 door to make a race car but my 76 will always be a driver!!!
That's cool.I'll be checking there for updates in your project.I've been patiently waiting to get my car right for this thread, everytime someone posts I read it just to see what people are doing and for encouragement,it's not always easy while working 12 hrs days. It's good to know that there's so many people doing the same :TU:
Keep it up man! my car gets all the time i have but when I go to school full time and work all summer it hard. I have a truck now so my 76 is getting a frame off resto!! I really like your car by the way, it is slick!!!
Well I am looking at getting a 350 sleeper, a 74 century luxus. in need of a little tlc but daily driven. looking to rescue it from the old poluter program. even use to have a real sleeper project 70 factory Stage 1 but with a 77 231 V6 in it. and had a 75 pace car( a little flashy for a sleeper but a 350 thou) Tim
As a fellow Marylander who's been away from the old car hobby for a long time, I've got to ask how you pass the state emissions test. Are you running the 350 through the stock single exhaust with catalytic converter or are you exempt because the motor's a `72? Thanks.
Heres a newer pic with headers and poston intake. Engine bay will be A LOT cleaner once i finish the other 350 im building for the car. This motor then goes into my 53 ford mainline once i figure out how to put it in lol.
Boscoe, In Maryland you don't have to take it for emissions testing until they send you something telling you when to go. Some counties don't require you to go thru emissions testing. I've had the car for 3 years and and up until 2 days ago they never sent the letter. When the V6 started knocking I had to put something in it, I had a great running 350/TH350 so in it went. In Maryland, if the car is 20 years old and they no longer make that model (they no longer make a Regal) then you can tag it Historic which does not have to go thru emissions or inspection....but it can't be your daily driver anymore so, I could do that next year. I may just try to sell it or keep it around to build a track car out of in the future. Ken
its a little rough now but ill clean it up right when i pull it to put in my 2 door one of these days heh.
Here is my 72, all original. Nothing is not original on this car. It even still has the spare that came with it in the trunk. The thing thats cool about having a buick is so far i have not seen one other buick around akron. You see chevy, ford. pontiac, etc but no buicks. There isnt a day that some one doesnt ask me to buy it or tell me what a cool car it is. Ive had so much fun with this car since I got it in april.
here's my current '68 4-door skylark custom... 90-sum thousand miles... sat in the desert for years... when i got it, the last oil change was 17 years ago and 58 miles ago... put in a new batt, changed oil, fuel filters, plugs gas down the carb & fired right up... front carpet is long gone, front seat is trashed, but rest of interior in great shape.... 350 power! burnout! NO bleach or oil or any of that crap to get it burn'n.... just Buick torque.... wore them to the wires (taken with freind's phone)
Not quite a 350....... And NOT a sleeper......yet! Sean, if you are still looking for a 455, I may have one available for you. PM me if interested. Brian
