    Tim,

Thanks for the update. Please let us know the final outcome.

I, like you, have received e-mails (and phone calls) from people who did business with Brian Earick and were not satisfied, to varying degress, with the work.

Some of them said they felt "lucky" just to finally get their parts back from him, after lengthy, inexlicable delays. Many said that they'd almost given up hope of ever getting their parts back.

Apparently, Brian does have one (1) working phone number, which is obviously the one you have been using. This is strange, of course, for someone who claims he has "multiple locations in the state of Ohio."

Some folks have told me that Brian is very "judicious" in his use of caller i.d., in that he appears NOT to personally answer calls from numbrers/names that he recognizes and from whom a complaint might be registered. Some of these same people have claimed that they have called him from work, or from some other source that Brian wouldn't easily identify, and he has indeed picked up the phone--perhaps hoping for a new customer.

I have not yet personally tried to contact him, as I am still in the process of getting all my parts rechecked--the parts that I paid him a handsome sum of money to do right THE FIRST TIME.

So, I cannot personally verify the "caller i.d." games that others have told me that they have experienced.

Finally, I think we need to differentiate between a "witch hunt," and a "TRUTH hunt."

The fact that Brian has not responded to this post, has not provided addresses and phone numbers for his "multiple locations," has deleted his post from this thread, etc., probably speaks volumes.

Good luck to all the folks who have issues with him. I sincerely hope they get resolved, in one way or another.

Rick Gable at Gable Engine 330-753-2251 did all the machinig on my 439. He balanced everything, studded the block, mocked up the engine for clearance.
Car ran 11.73 first pass(3800+ lbs.)

A 330 number....sounds somewhere near Youngstown. Where exactly is he located? Always good to know about Ohio engine builders whom are reputable...and not far :TU:

The # I reached him at was a personal cell phone that he gave me during the engine build with him. Glad I kept it since none of the other publicized #'s seemed to get answered. This may explain why so many are not getting a voice or someone to pick up at the other end.

Does he have an answering machine for those leaving messages on the "publicized lines".........dunno........I have not tried those #'s since It was difficult to reach Brian at them..........even during the engine build.

...............side note.............he did send me an e-mail a few night ago now confirming he has the receipts I sent him for having to re-do his work.......said he will review them and get with me soon.

Still hopeful this will have a positive outcome.........all men "at the table" are grown men and can work things out, and all know how to make "rights" out of "wrongs".

    ..............again........we'll see where this goes.

July 1st...........the landscape changes entirely on how this will be handled. There will be no turning back even if cooperation is promised by Earick Racing. July 1st marks the day that Brian Earick has been given to rectify this situation.

If Brian Earick of Earick Racing does not understand that a man that had $11,000 to play with for an engine/tranny build to a person that he trusted to do a good job.........also has plenty left to play with to hold him accountable, and his buddy Sam who assembled the engine in his garage accountable ..........and Brian's Grandmother accountable who is storing/possibly hiding Brians Parts and Machines in her garage from what is left of his business...................well, let's say.........I hope we don't have to go there for all parties involved. No State Line will hold me back when it guarantees holding all parties involved accountable........and in check not to do this to another person ever again. I am sure the process will take years of pursueing............but I am patient as death. All involved will find that out..........even though I hope they do not have to. Each of those that I will hold acountable will be done seperately.........I will start with Brian.

At this point all that Brian Earick has done in the 30 days I have given him to get back with me on how to rectify this situation ......is call the shop that I had to have the engine re-done at and suggest false possibilities about what has happened to my engine. He was corrected on his false assumptions by this shop............and date/time of conversation was documented.

There is a week to go here on this.............still hoping for the best before that door is locked permanently.

    Tim,

Well, at least you have to give Brian credit for some clever detective work in that he was able to find out which shop did your work! That had to take some digging.

And at least you've confirmed Brian's earlier claim on this post that he really has "multiple locations within Ohio." That would be his grandma's house, Sam's garage, and Brian's own house or apartment--if he has one.

Although I run the risk of being accused of pursuing a "witch hunt," I will say that I suspected something was "wrong" with Brian's operation a couple of years ago. I sent him a Buick 455 block which a local machinest had just line-bored a week before. While my local machinest is not a Buick "specialist," he has 40 years of experience at line-boring blocks!! I'm pretty sure that when you're line-boring a block, the block doesn't care what name is stamped on it, and neither does the machinest.

Brian told me that he had to line-bore my block, as it was "way off." He proceeded to do so, charging me 3X what my local machinest charged me--for something I'm sure didn't need to be done in the first place. I hadn't told him that it had just been done. Who knows if Brian ever really did it--but he certainly charged me for it!

I am currently in the process of rechecking everything that Brian did. Like you, I will post my findings when all is said and done.

Unfortunately, Tim, you may be in for a costly, uphill battle. I checked yesterday on the official website for the Secretary of State in Ohio, and Earick Racking Engines is NOT currently listed as a registered corporation within Ohio--Not even with a SINGLE location. Not even with any similar name.

Thus, it appears that Earick Racing Engines, Inc., the company that you and I did business with, no longer exists.

If this is the case, you will have to go after Brian as an individual. To do so, you will have to "pierce the corporate veil," attempting to prove that Brian and the "corporation" were, in reality, one in the same. In effect, that there were no corporate meetings, stockholders, treasurer, vice-president, etc.

This can be done, and I have recently done it myself against another corporation/individual.

In any case, good luck, keep up posted, and keep hunting those witches.

This may explain why he pulled his post earlier on this thread...........he was promoting he was still in business, had multiple locations and was still attempting to con others into doing business with him............and all along he did not have a permit to operate as a business in Ohio.

Wonder what the fine is in Ohio for posing as a business........and not being lisenced as one.

When he saw this thread "going bad" for him he then decided to pull everything down............may have been an attempt not to get reported for opperating as a business without a permit!!

Anyways.................Brian Earicks Deadline has passed with me. I gave him till June 30th.........no attempts to make this right.........just documentation of him calling the shop in Indiana that had to re-do his work and suggesting false ideas to them on what went wrong.

Brian Earick was made aware this morning via e-mail (which we know he is using) of the consequences he now faces. Here is a copy of that/those e-mails..........

Brian..........It is now July 1st and you simply are not contacting me with any information in regards to your ideas on what to do with re-do of your engine work I had to do.

It appears that you have no interest in settling this due to lack of contact..................even though we now have documentation of several things.......

    1) Full receipts and documentation of the 1st time you did the motor and tranny
    2) Full receipts and documentation of the 2nd time you had the motor due to the oil leak that Sam never fixed even though you indicated in documented E-mails he had.
    3) E-mails/Package receipts of the addresses you were having me go to for this transaction (which include Sam's house, and your Grandmother's house and three other locations which include Ohio and Fort Wayne, IN.)
    4) Documented phone calls to the shop in Fort Wayne where I had the engine redone and further documentation of what was said by you in regards to that shop.
    5) Pictures of what you were doing/sending me along with the build.........including Dyno Pics and Engine in Sam's Garage.
    6) Confirmation E-mail that you received the documents I sent you on what it took to re-do the motor
    7) All Cell phone bills with dates and times of our corrispondence with each other as I attempted to resolve this matter with you first.
    8) Documentation on what both shops (Manchester, IN and Fort Wayne, IN) found severly wrong with your work and what it took to repair it.

This is the short list Brian. I do not know why you are about to put yourself, your friend's and Grandmother through a battle that I know will cause discomfort for all involved over a small amount of money that it would take to resolve this..........but you won't even discuss it with me.

This is what you have initiated and you may want to keep this e-mail as fair warning/documentation of what I told you in writing for those that are going to see this case.

This will also serve fair warning to what will be my lifelong persuit to post my experience on what has happened to me everywhere I can. This will not be slander.........because I will not be lying about my experience. The really cool thing about this too is I now have found 9 other individuals that have endorsed me to tell their story too in regards to similar recent experiences with you too. Private Messaging is a wonderful thing on our Buick Community Forums. All Buick Forums will be notified of these experiences...............All Buick functions through-out the states will be receiving a packet in regards to mine and others experiences also. I will make it a point that when it comes to Buick Performance...........most will know of your ethics when dealing with good people.......and they will have to make a mindful choice if they want you to possibley harm others views of the Buick community further and repeatedly under their endorsed event(s). Again.........this will not be slander..........it will be truthful experiences backed with bullet-proof documentation for anyone to look at that requests.

I'm not sure what the local media rules are in discussing such via newspaper and local Television in regards to scamming others as you have done to me........but sitting down with each of them to see if they will air/print such information as a fair warning to others in your area ...............well, let's say that will be suprising if they don't due to the documentation we will be showing them. My hope then will be to take that printed and aired material to the Buick community/Your local community you live in..... and again..........give them the material they need to make up their minds as they choose "reputable" individuals to be part of their community endorsement.

There are other things in place also for your friend Sam and your Grandmother...........in the end............they will question your integrity too and why they were helping you in your shoddy business endevours............not to mention my attempts to hold them financially accountable to. I will say though........your Grandmother was quite helpful in letting me into her garage to be able to photograph all your parts/machines at her residence before you arrived the day I picked up the car at her house. I had never seen such a pile of Buick performance parts........and the pictures at the time were of great value to my "Buick Engine Re-Build" scrap-book...............little did I know the great legal value they will now posses as I proceed.

This is not only going to be painful for you and your friends/family Brian........it will be painful for me too. I have full documentation that I went to great extremes not to have to take it to the level I now am at. Why you would do this to me and others you meet is beyond me..............the only thing I can come up with is that you are a con without remorse .................unless pinned in a corner. I am about to remind you and others like you of one thing.......................The Power of doing the right thing.

You still know how to get ahold of me Brian..........you have all my phone #'s..............and e-mail address. I am sure you will want this all to stop at some point or another..........right now you are probably just sitting there and seeing if I'm bluffing.........beware of "bluffing men" that take time to write hour long e-mails such as this. This all will end when the right thing is done............and at this point you have not made a move.............and in the meantime, the right thing will be done on my end both in warning others with truthful information anyway I can, and initiating legal action for months and years to come with all that were involved with you.

Let me know when you are willing to make things right and I am sure we will come to an agreement. The same will be offered to Sam and your Grandmother.

Brian..........have not heard from you in regards to what you plan on doing about my list of repairs as pertaining to oversights in my Buick 455 engine rebuild that you and Sam put back together. I will give you till the end of June to reply since it may take you some time to come up with some ideas on how you are going to handle this.

Further..........communication via e-mail is how I would like to handle this matter. It will serve well in the documentation of how we both attempted to handle this (or lack of attempt).

At this point I have a phone conversation saying you wanted the paperwork for what had to be redone via e-mail ......and an e-mail with such paper worked scanned and sent to you on the 5/30/07.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Tim Nussbaum

Buick Community Beware..........you are dealing with a con-artist that WILL take your $$ and with mine and other similar stories......Brian does represent an individual that has strong past behaviors that indicate YOU WILL NOT GET WHAT YOU'VE PAID FOR......AND HE SIMPLY WILL NOT BACK HIS WORK EVEN THOUGH IT IS FOUND FAULTY BY MULTIPLE SHOPS!!!! FURTHER>>>>>HE IS NOT LISTED IN OHIO AS A FUNCTIONING BUSINESS EVEN THOUGH HE CLAIMS HE IS AND HAS MULTIPLE LOCATIONS..................BEWARE!!!

All information above is an attempt to have others make the best decision possible when dealing with the Quality Buick Community we still have. Choose wisely, and you will all still have a great experience with these great cars and engines we call Buick :3gears:

For those wanting to see the site you need to be aware of ...................this is the link to Earick Racing Engines.

    http://wsx.net/ere/

He is still promoting himself as a Business..........even though he is opperating out of friends garages in the Heath, OH area and storing buick parts/meeting people to pick up cars at his Grandmother's residence........and no "EARICK RACING ENGINES" shop can be found in Ohio.

BEWARE>>>>>>>>>this so called "business" is NOT as advertised!!!!!!!!

I concur, you could do a lot worse than Fowler Engines. In fact they are the ONLY machine shop I have not had a problem with, including some well known in the Buick community. They will do exactly what you want them to do, even if it's not what works on Chevy motors. They have the nicest crank grinding machine in town, and are a top flight machine shop.

Yep, so far/so good with Fowlers shop. I have had nothing but good experiences with them, and they are not going anywhere. They are a well known shop around Columbus...not a fly-by-night operation.

Update..............Got an e-mail from Brian Earick that states "I am sorry for the delay.....I am confering with my attorneys" :Dou: ...............if you also haven't noticed, his link to his web-site has now been pulled down. Here it is........http://wsx.net/ere/ .........now it doesn't work once we started to discuss the fine/fines in Ohio that can go along with attempting to look like a business and not have a permit to operate as one.

So let's get this straight about Earick Racing Engines.........Legitmate Business, Multiple locations, Good Business man (that's his claim).............

...................Builds a bad engine,,,,,,,,, pulls his website down,,,,,,,,,,, pulls his posts down on this thread about "multiple locations",,,,,,,,,,, no business building to be found that he works out of in Newark, Ohio as his website stated,,,,,,,,,, will not try to come to a solution and meet deadlines for solution discussions, and follows up with "I'm conferring with my attorneys" ...........on what.............how to call a man and attempt to settle up for a bad engine build???

................Crystal Clear on what's happening here.

I will keep the Forum Posted.

    Tim,

Looks you have found your "witch."

I would check with the Ohio Secretary of State Office to see when (if ever) Brian was first incorporated, when he ceased being a corporation (if he ever was one), and if he did indeed operate for any years under the "guise" of a corporation.

If he did so, there has to be a pretty strong illegality in there somewhere.

    Just something to think about.

    You are correct Ranger.......

As of the 4th of July Brian Earick has been trying to get ahold of me on my cell phone. At first he was using a "withheld" # so my cell phone could not register the # he was calling from. The messages were polite.......but no # was given to call him back at. I then sent him an e-mail and left voicemails for past #'s I had for him indicating I needed a # to call back that I knew was working. He has since then called from a # that registers now on my cell phone.........we have just not been able to connect yet to talk.

    We'll see where this goes.

One thing is for certian...........it should never had taken this much effort/time to get this moving in the right direction........

..........and we are not there yet completely either.
