Wow, that's cool to know. They're ten minutes up the road from me.

Do they have their own in-house machine shop, or do they "farm" everything out to a 3rd party, like Earick and some others do?

Pretty excited.........taking the car to the Buick Engine Builder Friday as they are ready to re-install the engine. The re-do/re-machine/re-balance/repair/replace parts list was extensive.......but we are days away from launching this Hellcat. :3gears:

Side note...............I noticed that Brian Earicks comments of "bring your business to me, we have many years of experience of building engines with multiple locations here in Ohio" that was posted on this thread is now gone.

    Hmmmmmmmmm.

    Tim,

Congrats on getting all of your expensive parts and machine work redone, finally. Too bad you had to go through all of that anguish, expense, and delay.

You have a "sharp eye" to note that Brian Earick's post on this thread, where he claims to have "multiple locations in Ohio," has "mysteriously" disappeared.

A search of his website lists only ONE phone number. I find this curious for a company that claims "multiple locations in Ohio." Even stranger, when calling the number listed on the webiste, there is no answer; only a recording that says "you CANNOT leave a message."

There is no exact address on his webiste, only that he is located in Newark, Ohio. A search on www.whitepages.com turns up zilch for Earick Racing Engines in Newark, Ohio.

In fact, there is no such listing in the entire state of Ohio, according to the
    aforemtnioned whitepages.com.

Perhaps Brian can chime in here and provide us with phone numbers and exact addresses of his multiple locations. As I will be in Ohio next month on business, I will gladly personally visit each and every one of his "multiple" locations and report back to the board about the type of equipment he has, cleanliness of his shops, current projects he is working on, etc.

Perhaps Brian would even be so kind as to post a current copy of his Ohio Business license, which is a matter of public record to which each of us has access, that states that he is licensed in "multiple" locations.

I sincerely hope Brian compensates you for the slipshod work and materials that you state he provided you, not to mention compensation for your time, trouble, loss of trust, etc.

If he doesn't, I know you stated that you would let this board know about it. In that case, if you wish to proceed further against him, you will certainly need to know the specifics of his "multiple" locations in Ohio.

Good luck on the new build!

Try Gable engine builder in Akron. All in house. Has torque plates and can internally balance. Did mine in 2001.

    Tim,

Please post, as soon as you can, the list of parts, services, and machine work that all had to be redone after you initially had Brian Earick do it.

I am currently in the process of rechecking all the machining that he did on my block--or rather, that he "farmed out" to a third party to do on my block. As I stated, this "third party" was too lazy to even fit my own camshaft in my block and test it to see if it was able to spin, after he installed my cam bearings.

I am anxious to know all the problems that you found, so that I don't miss anything obvious.

    Thanks!

A machine shop in Columbus called Fowlers just did my 350 Buick. We have used them for over 15 years here in my shop, and their work has always been outstanding and we have never had an issue. The engine is still on the stand, so I have to real information yet, but I expect good things!

Just got a call today that my engine and tranny are back in the car.........should be back on the road within 10 days it appears.

Keep in mind I am going to give Brian Earick of Earick Racing enough time to rectify the situation for the extra $$$$ that I had to spend to re-do his work. If he can come up with fair compensation and reasons for this happening that I can understand.............well then, I know all will understand that anyone can make mistakes. I am anxious to see how he stands behind his oversites and mis-representation in my engine build.

If he is who he says he is.......he will stand for what is the right thing to do.............that is still what I am hopeful of.

The whole act of posting on this thread to lure other potential customers in and then deleting his information does have me concerned though.

    Tim,

I certainly appreciate your giving Brian Earick a chance to rectify the situation in a civil fashion. However, I agree that his "disappearing act" on this thread should have you, and everyone, a bit concerned.

Trouble is, I think you have difficulty in finding Brian, and/or even one of the "multiple locations" that he claims he has in Ohio.

A search just the past week on www.whitepages.com produced no results for the name Brian Earick, either in Newark, Ohio, OR IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF OHIO!

Another great search tool for people, www.anywho.com, produced NO RESULTS, either.

A search on www.yellowpages.com produced no listings IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF OHIO for Earick Racing Engines. I find this odd, for a company that claims in has "multiple locations in the state."

His website is still functioning, though it lists not even one address for his "multiple locations." Furthermore, the only phone number listed on his webiste is dead.

Again, I find all of this a bit curious and I wish Brian would step in and clear up this shroud of mystery.

As I said, I will be in Ohio next month on business and I would love to stop and check out each and every one of Brian's multiple locations, and post my results back to this board about the condition of his shops, machinery/equipment owned, current projects he is working on, etc.

I think this would be a great opportunity for Brian to get some positive, free advertising.

So, Tim, please keep us informed.

    A good weekend to all.

    Picking up the Buick tonight...........:Brow:

The Re-Do, Re-Work, Re-Machine, Re-Degree, Rebuild list to correct what Brian Earick of Earick Racing had done appears isn't just a small list.........it is extensive.

Next step is to see how this gets handled/resolved.

    Tim,

I will be interested in seeing if you can even find a working phone number for either Brian Earick, or even one of his "multiple" locations in Ohio. I could not.
Good luck, and let us all know the final outcome.

    Tim,

Any luck in speaking to, or even finding a working phone number, Brian Earick?

Please let us know as soon as possible.

    Thanks.

    Tim,

Sorry to hear about your recent woes, but I hope you've finally seen the last of the gremlins.

I just find it strange that Brian Earick hasn't chimed in here, at this point.

He obviously still reads this board, and follows this particular thread--as evidenced by his "jumping in" here several weeks ago, offering to perform engine builds at any one of his "multiple locations in Ohio," and then suddenly disappearing, by deleting his post.

As I said, I cannot find a single working phone number in the entire state of Ohio for either Brian as an individual, or as Earick Racing, and I find this curious, as well.

Thanks for the update, and let us know if you are able to track Brian down.

Spoke with Brian Earick this morning and had a brief chat..........will be e-mailing him the entire list of Re-Do stuff we were faced with.

    Ya'll have a safe Memorial Day Weekend...............:3gears:

    Tim,

The fact that you even found a working phone number for Brian earns you the "Sherlock Holmes" award of the year. As I said, I could not find a single working phone number for him IN THE ENTIRE STATE OF OHIO, either as an individual, or as a company/corporation. I used whitepages.com, yellowpages.com, anywho.com, and a variety of people/business locators--with no luck whatsoever.

    1. I would be curious to know why this is so, especially since he states that he has "multiple locations" in Ohio.

    2. I would also like to know why he pulled his "disappearing act" on this very thread--jumping in last month, offering to rebuiild Buick motors, and then "erasing" his post just several days later.

    3. I would like the addresses of his "multiple locations" in Ohio. I will be in Ohio soon on business, and I would love to visit these locations. I would think this would be great, free advertising for him, if I reported back to the board about how well-equiped, clean, etc., these "multiple locations" really are.

Anyway, Tim, these are just some things you might want to consider asking him the next time you speak with him--after, of course, you get your main business with him taken care of.

    Tim,

How is the new motor coming along?

Please post the "extensive" list of errors that you encountered from your dealings with Earick Racing Engines, when you get a chance.

I know that you are in the process of seeing if Brian will admit to his errors, and more importanly, reimburse you for all your time, trouble, and aggravation.

Still, this is a separate issue from what your recent, competent machine shop found.

As I am in the process of now having to recheck all the machine work that I paid Brian to do, which was "farmed" out to a third party, I am especially curious as to what exactly your problems were--so I can triple check those specific areas.

    Thanks.

Ranger, it *appears* you have started this thread to be nothing more than a witch hunt theatre. 1SICGSX has openly posted he spoke to Brian, so why don't you PM him for Brian's phone number, instead of continuing in your current fashion??? IMO, your spinning your wheels, and getting nowhere, in your current train of thought...

Thank you for your fatuous and risible input, but I was NOT the one that started this thread.

I'm just trying to weed out the good guys from the bad guys--for the benefit of ALL of us on this Board.

When someone states that they have "multiple locations" in any given state, yet not one working phone number can be obtained using myriad conventional sources, it does appear a bit suspicious, IMHO.

The fact that Brian has not jumped in (after he JUMPED OUTof this thread) and provided phone numbers and locations for his "multiple locations" only adds to the obfuscation.

I apologize for trying to help folks make in intelligent decision about whom to trust.

    My .02 cents.

Ranger did not start this thread. I think all can see that. I have posted that I will keep the Forum informed of how this is progressing and I have...............and.................giving Brian Earick the time to respond on how he is going to handle the mis-handling of rebuilding my engine before any final judgement on his integrity can begin to take a direction.

My take on this is that ranger has discovered some "gaps" to say the least on how Earick Racing is advertised........and what he is finding in the Real World. I believe that we are both confused on why Brian Earick would post what he did earlier in this thread .................. and then come in and delete his post of "having multiple locations" and indicating that he was one of the top engine builders in Ohio....... I have to agree with Ranger that move would be interesting via ANY engine builder to do that on this site............

I think that putting real factual information out to the buying public looking for good resources is something we should hold out as a beacon of light here in this Forum...........and is what I see happening on other World Class Forums like this no matter what kind of car/engine it is. To scoff at someones intentions to put the facts out as a "Witch Hunt"...........dunnno if I would quite agree with that logic.

Anyways................Brian Earick was e-mailed documentation on the re-build of his work today. I am hopeful he is reviewing it and a positive outcome can be the result for both of us. Let's give it some time.

Quick update............easier here than replying to all the PM's at once I have been getting on this.

Brian Earick of Earick Racing has had the paperwork/receipts/machine-shop work/amount of expense that it took to re-do his work now for 2 weeks to review.

    No response from him.

More contact was made today to inform him that he will be given a full 30 days to review and respond.

Will keep the Forum posted as promised.

As for those with the supportive PM's......thank you.........but this is just the beginning..........I will not jump to lop his head off quickly as some others want me to due to their similar experiences with him. I want to give reasonable time to a business owner (Brian Earick) that is apparently struggling so he has the chance to show all how he can resolve issues that come up.

I am still hopeful for a positive outcome.......but right now the screen is just blank............

    ............we'll see where this goes.
