Where do I start? Well, just got home around 6 this evening after leaving at 8:45 or so this AM; hauling Carl Rychliks car at a min of 70, max of 85 mph. What a freakin blast the whole thing was. I am pumped! Highlights: -Caravaning out and hooking up with the Mass boys. It was like driving a float with the shriners in their little cars the way these guys were cutting all over the place on the highway. -Meeting Brad Conley and seeing the prototype X. That was like mecca for a guy thats been drooling over Xs since he was nine! (I'm not worthy!) -Putting so many faces to names; Jim Lore, Dana and Beth, Smartin, Jim Weise, Mike Trommeter, Kyle Price, Stage 2 Scott etc, etc, etc -The cute blond chick that took my ticket at the gate. -Listening to Jedi Master Duane preach the gospel according to Buick, what a walking encyclopedia! -Denny Manners off the cuff talk about those mills we love so much. -Watching Yardley blow up a plastic sheep love toy. :eek2: -Watching the big boys run, Zerucha, Hecker, John Schmidt, the TA wagon, Rod Hendrickson, John Csordas Jr, Rick Martinez, Scotty Guadagno (sp?), and a bunch more. :3gears: -Seeing Yardley run around in an apron and a straw hat. -Man, the show was awesome! So many great Buicks! From concours, to the wild modified, all were great in their own way -Watching Jim Ramsey bunny hop his apparently shock-less stage 1 to the starting line while chewing on a pretzel -The Mass boys (Johnno, John Campbell, Kevin , Chris, and another guy whose name escapes me). These guys were there to have fun. Im guessing a min of three threads dedicated to these Massholes! What a riot! These guys were pure outrageous entertainment! -Beers in the Red Roof parking lot. :beer -Fireworks and major smoke shows (one of the separate Mass boys threads, for sure, with incriminating evidence Im sure the Boardman, Ohio PD would like). -Watching Yardley pull what will infamously be called for all time pullin a Yardley when he picked up his car show trophy (another thread will be dedicated to that for sure, with pictures and a short movie). -The pit engine swap, again brought to you courtesy of the Mass boys (separate thread) -Street racing Bob Quigg in his duramax duelie with my Avalanche 8.1 litre up to the speed limiter. -Listening to Reverend Mooneys tales of towel fetishes and street races. -And a bunch more stuff that my sun and beer soaked mind cant think of right now It was a great time and I have to say a hands down success for the BPG! Im sure lots of stories will be posted here to attest to that fact! If you missed it, you missed a great time!
Wolverine's engine bay during the 350 to 455 transplant, this was THE story as far as I am concerned. So many people helped this guy in trouble. He was up and running and probably running track today with his 455. Here's Mark DiConti (sp?) and Larry Hymowitz offering expert advice.
Yup. He laid down a 14.38 @93 when I was still there. Without a doubt, it was the story of the Nats. And I saw it live!!!!
Awesome Dan! Glad to hear it! Congrats to Wolverine! :beer Dan, I really enjoyed checking out your car and watching you go through the gears down the quarter. Nice Work! :TU: Of course, it was nice meeting you too!
You should have stayed a little longer Dan. After that he ran a 14.23, then a 14.1?. His reaction time was getting better and better everytime he went. His MPH was in the low-mid 90's each time. He gave us a little burnout when he left for home. Before he left he got a new front seat for the long ride home. Those fella's were great to be around!!
Cool, sounds like everyone had fun, and im glad it was a success, and congrats to wolverine!:beer It's nice to see some buick people helping out others:beer :TU: -Cody
Chris- I'm sure a separate thread will be started for this.... Edit: In fact, here is one I just started.
Ken, I agree, it was great to be able to put some faces with the people that are on this board.... As for those Red Roof late night burn out videos...:Brow: I have video and so does Alan so I am sure that it will be in the DVD that Alan will be putting together... A great time all in all...:beer

Great time. I had to take a nap at a rest area. Too much late night partying Saturday night. Big thanks to all the BPG organizers, sponsors, etc. Also, special mention for the Boardman OH police for not catching anybody speeding or screwing around as far as I know.
