Just wanted to say that I'm glad there is a cool site like V8 where folks can express their opnions and other people take time out to consider them, even if they don't agree. As a Christian I'm thankful that I live in a country where we have the freedom to do this.
Do you realize what would happen in some countries if we were found to be throwing out these thoughts/comments, just to each other?

Yes, Isreal as a nation FULLY UNDERSTANDS this WAR, and seems willing as a WHOLE to do was is necessary for their survival! I've ALWAYS admired their STRENGTH and COURAGE! :TU: Although often, I just have to cringe at the tactics used.

If our nation stood AS UNITED against terrorism as Isreal has in 'their' fight................ It sure would make the job MUCH EASIER! Kind of like during WWII! :Smarty:

Well, I can dream can't I? :Do No:

I wonder if we (AMERICA) really have a whole lot of control (IF ANY.. ) with Isreal??

Sometimes I wonder.... Who's controlling who??

    PRAY,

    PRAY TO GOD!

The Bible talks about times like THESE in the book of REV. :(

    Jim Garrison-American Hero

An excellent movie! Oliver Stone came as close to saying the C.I.A. did it as he possibly could. Jim Garrison was a true American hero. Without him the Zupruda film would still be locked up in a Time-Life vault. He and Mark Lane made a real difference. JFK's assisination is an excellent example of how big brother works. If you really want to stand some hairs up watch the Garrison tapes. It is a documentary with him being interviewed.

At the end of the interview the he is asked if he would do it all over again. He answers something like this. "I don't know if I would due to the enourmous cost to my personal life." Then he sort of grins and says, "On the other hand, the C.I.A. knew they had been danced with."

Big brother is always watching and I can assure you there are plenty of politcal prisoners incarcerated in this country.

When I think about this Isreal Palestine situation I think that if the at the end of WW2 the powers to be had given my state of Queensland and or the land that my family owns, and I'm fifth generation Australian, that is from the first white settlers, or if I was an Australian aboriginal who can trace their ancestory back at least 60000 years,or say Texas or where ever in your case, to the jews and told you to pack up and leave because these people( the jews) now own it by the decree of others, I would take any and all measures to resist the occupiers.Wouldn't you??
We as occupiers, and I'm sure native Americans probably feel the same as our native Australians who had their lands taken by force by us, have the same feeling as the Palestinians, don't get me wrong about condoning the violence that goes on there, but I think it easy for us to forget that you as well as us took what we call home from others that were here before us.
I wonder where the world would be now if at the end of WW2, Germany had been given to the jews instead of occupying parts of Palestine??
These are just my thoughts at this time,we, the US, Australia and the the rest of the coalition are an occupying force under the guise of freeing an oppressed people. From what I've been seeing ,they the Iraqi's aren't exactly jumping with joy since we arrived and took over, are they!! nor have been the Palestinians
been since the end of WW2 when they lost their lands to the jews.
I'm really just a guy who likes cars and now I'm caught up in the confusion of a war involving terrorism, religion, oil and the the supposed guidance of our elected leaders.
My wife gave birth to our first child last week and I wonder what the future we are making for him now holds for his future.

The thing is, the Jews had been living side by side with the Arabs in that region for ages. Please explain why, that if the Arabs were so concerned with the plight of the Palistinians, why didn't they give them this piss ant ten thousand square mile piece of dust before the UN mandate in 1946? I can't beleive that people say we kiss Isreal's a$$. Lets see they are the only democracy in the region. The middle east is about 430 million square miles, Isreal occupies 10 thousand of it. Why should they give up there land to the Palistinians when they have lived there just as long. No land was ever taken from the Palistinians because they never had it to begin with. Egypy, Syria and Jordan controlled it prior to 1946 and I don't remember them ever giving it to the Palistinians.
Lets face it. The Palistinian people are being used as a tool by the Arabs because they seek the destruction of all "non Muslims".

If we had Mexicans coming over the border daily and blowing up bus loads of children do you think our actions would be any different then the Jews?

I'm all for Isreal kicking a$$ in the ME.

If we had a non-liberal media station, people's perception of the war would be completely different. This crap the media is feeding the public is being intentionally shown as they want their personal interest and beliefs implanted in people's minds. Someone needs to make a non-liberal news station that shows the good we're doing over in Iraq. I can guarantee there's 10 times more good than bad over there.

Thing is the Syrians, Jordanians, Egyptians, Iraqis, and every other arab country don't like the Palestinians either. They are considered lowlife scumbags by these countries. They just use the Palestinian cause for their own purposes. They could care less about the Palestinians.

I watch the FOX news channel and they had a discussion over the stockmarket with some of their employees. Well, it turned into a political battle where the outside guests blamed clinton for the recession (which I agree) and started to say how the country needs to support Bush in the war so he can get re-elected. They said if Bush was to get a second term, the stock market would reach the 12,000 mark with the tax breaks, etc. They said if Kerry was to be in office with his taxation of successful stocks, the market would stay at 9,000 cause people wouldn't want to invest in the market. Once they mentioned all this the FOX news people started bashing Bush on the war and how it's so bad over in Iraq, not even mentioning any of the good we've done. After hearing that I decided to change the station. I thought FOX was somewhat more balanced, but after hearing that I see they aren't.

    Notice George's use of $$

    George,

Your use of the $$ sign was quite clever. This is the problem, plain and simple. For you "Conservatives" {and please don't tell me that because you listen to Rush and vote straight Republican you can call yourself conservative}, I bring you Representative Ron Paul [R] from the great state of Texas.

If you're not aware of him you are missing out on one of the brightest minds in Washington {read uncorrupted}. He, like Hollings [D, SC], he has a handle on what this is all about. Please read some of his material. You will find more common sense in one of his letters than Kerrie or Bush could muster in a career.

Apparently he is the focus of a write in campaign for President. I may vote Nader [he has a much better message than in the past and the backing of folks who have a much more populist view], but if not I will surely write in Ron Paul.

We must get out of the standard Republicrat "box". It is essential to the survival of this nation. There is still time to save it, and the establishment knows it, but time is running out.

    Aussies

Ruston-your not suggesting all the lives and money being poured into Iraq are being wasted, are you?

BTW, Most Americans probably have more respect for Austrailia than any other nation on earth besides our own. Not only do both countries have similar history as British colonies, but many Americans consider Austrailia an unspoiled frontier and most want to visit there but can not afford to. I wish the media would spend a fraction of the time they spend on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict on the goings on in Austrailia and other nations.

I'll bet the '64 jumps like a Roo

During the Clinton years our economy was booming. When he left office, we had a surplus of money. Bush decided to give it all back, 9/11 happenned, and now the national debt is skyrocketing to an unprecedented amount. And that's Clinton's fault? Tax cuts for the rich, paybacks for Bush's campaign fund............you conservatives need to get real. WAKE UP AND SMELL THE BUSH!:spank:

    Joe,
During Clinton's last year in office the economy started to go sour. I use to deliver automotive parts for the big 3 automakers and during those last years of Clinton the plants started shutting down at periods of times cause of lack of sales. From that time I said the econonmy started going south and I was right, since automobiles are America's economic backbone. From the time the president starts making decisions that effects the economy until they hit the public is a delayed process. Alot of these economic problems that Bush had to deal with was from Clinton's actions. With president Bush getting re-elected for another term, I'm sure he'll have the stockmarket up to 12,000. If he can pull us out of the recession this quick, than I'm sure he can improve the numbers alot more than it is.

The attack on the world trade centers almost collapsed our entire economy. The govenrment had to shore up the damage to prevent an economic catastrophy that would have dwarfed the great depression. That takes money. BTW, Bush didn't just wave his majic wand and spend away. He went through the house and senate, which at the time was not yet Republican controlled. So if your so upset about the defecit, which was there with CLinton, and has grown with every President since Eisenhower, blame the entire government, not one man.

Also as far as tax cuts for the rich, how about Clinton's corporate tax cuts? Under his 8 years 80% of large the large companies in the US paid zero taxes. Using the loopholes that Clinton put in place.
