I did all the work, myself! :TU: Most everything is "available aftermarket", bolt on stuff. :TU:

The thing that took me the most time, was just modifying the Factory Stock, to add the AR15 Pistol Grip! That is the best thing that anyone could do to ANY rifle! :Smarty:

My shoulder used to get a "cramp" in it, from holding a "normal" rifle in a shooting position. Not anymore!

Let me prove something here, to you. An "experiment", if you will, for you to try (even as you're sitting here, reading this!), just for fun:

Pretend like you're "holding a Rifle", in an Aiming position (like you're going to shoot something). Your holding the rifle with Both hands, right? One hand "under" the Front forearm part of the stock, and your other hand holding the "GRIP" area (like you're going to pull the trigger).

Now, NOTICE the position of your "Elbow" of your arm that is holding the "GRIP"!

Now, DO THIS: Without changing ANYTHING ELSE in your "shooting position" (like you're still "aiming" at something), DO NOT MOVE your "GRIP" Hand (the one that you are pretending that you are going to Pull the Trigger with), and ONLY "LOWER" your ELBOW, to touch your stomach/side!

Do you SEE or NOTICE the DIFFERENCE?

The Front hand didn't move at all. The "Grip" hand didn't move, but the SHOULDER and WRIST were the "pivot" point, for the ELBOW to Lower, and there is not as much "awkwardness" that way.

On a Rifle WITHOUT a Pistol Grip, it feels like you're going to put your Ear onto your Shoulder, like you're going to be "listening" to your Shoulder!

On a Rifle WITH the Pistol Grip, it just feels like a more "natural" arm position to hold the rifle, and it actually improves Shooter Skills, because you become more "comfortable" and "relaxed"! I never "thought" it would :Do No: , but I FOUND OUT that it does!

I've improved my "Quick Sight" times, by 5 Seconds!

That means, I can Shoot "5 Seconds FASTER" (on average), with my RIFLE, than anyone else that I've been competing with (Even PISTOL shooters! :Do No: ), since I've added the Pistol Grip, and the Holosight!

In other words, I can shoot (15) 4" Targets (Bowling Pins), at a Distance of 25 Yds., in 7.78 Seconds! :eek2: That's TWO targets per SECOND!

Out of "30 Competitors", the NEXT CLOSEST guy, to my score, did the same (15) 4" targets (Bowling Pins), at the same Distance of 25 Yds., in 14.32 Seconds! That is "Not Bad" (because it's not as "easy" as it sounds! :Smarty: ), but HE was using a Semiautomatic PISTOL (with a Red Dot Scope! Not like MY "Red Dot", though! :Brow: :TU: )!

You would THINK that you can AIM and SHOOT with a PISTOL, FASTER, than you could with a RIFLE! :Do No: WOULDN'T YOU? :Do No: :Brow: :TU:

My Record is Still standing (15 targets in 7.78 Seconds)!

I've been competing in "Internet Competitions", because it's "Free" (except for Ammo and Targets, of course), and PRACTICE is "necessary" (and Fun), and you can discuss other ways to improve (equipment/skills/techniques, etc.)! I've always "taught myself" how to do things, but I "learn" by watching other people, and what to do, and what Not to do!

I'm starting .45 Pistol Competitions next Spring, using the same Holosight as you see on my Rifle! :Brow: :TU: :blast:

H&K USP 40sw, bought it before the 45ACP came out :-(
ParaOrdnance P13-45 and 3 magazines for it :)
Colt officers model 38 wheel gun
    S&W 22 target wheel gun
    Colt targetsman 22auto
    Astra 380 (Baretta clone)
Tarus 5 shot 38 (wifes gun)
Marlin44mag lever action carbine (OK, not a hand gun but ALMOST!)

I LOVE the H&K but it is a BIG gun!! I don't ever carry it and have big hands so it's good for me. Wish I had waited for the 45ACP but who knew?

Bought the P13 and had to send a request to purchase extra mags and was limited to two. They worth twice what I paid last time I checked! That gun was a rush purchase brought on by the hi-capacity ban but I was looking at the time.

The Tarus I don't really like too much, I buy a lot of factory 38 re-loads and it will then to eject cracked cases every once and a while but my old Colt 38 has NEVER done that! If I had it to do again, I would have talked her into spending more for a Colt,Smith, or Ruger.

The Marlin I bought as new from a friend for $200 with Lyman peep sites, a nice sling, hard case that looks too short to hold a rifle, and a box of re-loads! It is just plain cute and a good close range deer rifle for in the brush.

The Colt 38 was a gift from a friend of mine as a thank you for replacing a rear frame rail in his Impala for him.

S&W 22 was my Grandfathers who is still with us at 97 yrs old!

Colt Targetsman was a trade for an SKS.

Astra 380 is a nice compact carry gun and pretty well made.

(All in a gun safe to keep my kids and their friends safe along with some neat long guns that no one needs to own  )

Wow, there ARE alot of handgunners on here, with some nice hardware to boot! I am glad this has not turned into some type of political thread...

Target shooting with a pistol is great fun, and a great challenge. I have had a serious challenge since I lost some of my vision clarity in my right eye within the last 12 months (doctors can't explain it, and I have seen the best...cannot correct with glasses either..), I shoot right handed with my left eye open!

    Thanks for responding guys.

I'm more worried about the moron taking a photo down the business end of a loaded weapon with a hollow point in the chamber. Another Darwin award waiting to happen. :error:

You don't need a laser sight at that range!

For me, it's kinda like the cars, too many to have time to use very often. As a young pup, dad and I liked to do long range plinking. You learn a lot about ballistics and wind drift-and it did pay off hunting. Now, it's not so easy to do that, or do that safely in many areas. I still have the various S+W (mostly combat magnum types) handguns that my dad and I used in our law enforcement days-

:blast: I HAVE SEVERAL GUNS AND DO RELOADING FOR 9MM AND 45ACP. I LOVE 1911'S AND HAVE HAD ABOUT ALL OF THEM FROM NORINCO TO BILL WILSON. MY FAVORITE IS A SPRINGFIELD ARMORY I BUILT MYSELF WITH THE HELP OF BILL WILSONS PARTS. (WILSON COMBAT IS ONLY ABOUT AN HOUR FROM MY HOUSE.) I ALSO HAVE A KIMBER HIGH CAP IN .45 AS WELL AS THE SUBCOMPACT SPRINGFIELD XD9. (AWESOME SHOOTER!) SEVERAL RIFLES THAT I BUILT FROM AR-15 TO RUGER 10-22.

You guys can own all the guns you want. Doesn't bother me. As long as I don't see a post where one of you has bought the Mark David Chapman action set. (the action set comes with an autograph book and pen)

YES! 1911 all the way. 80-years as the U.S. issue side-arm should say something.

By the way, a friend of mine's brother is a Navy SEAL. He said they wore out the Berettas after about 500 rounds. They switched to the cheaper Taurus copy of the same gun and they work great! (Go figure...Made in America, South America that is!) Just thought this might help a future buyer....

I have been collecting firearms for a few years and I have two HK handguns. Both are .45cal, one is a full size tactical edition, and the other is a stainless slide compact. I love the polymere frames to death, lightweight, durable. Have and Bushmaster AR-15, with too many mods done to it, and AK-47, a Ruger .357 revolver snub nose, and last of all a tactical mossberg 12 gauge.

1911's...if you have not shot a good one, DO IT. I promise you will love it!

I tell ya, the 1911 versus Glock issue is like Buick versus Chebby...never ends!
Soooo, I own several of both :Brow:

I have a Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 revolver and a RG model 23 .22LR revolver. I love the Ruger but need a new grip. Besides these I have a 410 single shot shotgun.

Does anybody take their pistols deer (or other) hunting?
