u know that does make sence with the natural selection process the smarter people would have axed the bully. although austraila was orginally a place where europe sent prisoners to live and now it's one of the countries with the least amount of crime. don't know if human behavior can really be tied to evolution of it's own species.

ummm, humans can't evolve. our species was created by god as is!!!!!. evolution is not a fact, only a theory (that doesn't work!!!!)

Actually, evolution is a fact. It's happening everyday. The 'Big Bang', however, is a load of bull***.

    NOPE.
there is no proof of evolution at all. where is it happening? we did not come from monkeys we are not animals. how can a frog evolve into a giraffe ? GOD made us as we are now, in his divine image, tho we wonder why he would make people who stomp geese, stab children, and smell worse than a backed up new orleans septic system, they are in his image too. its all part of the grand cosmic plan.
i agree the big bang is dumb, everything is not expanding, my desk is exactly where it was yesturday.

I was not aiming my feelings towards anyone person but our society in general.

As I stated the guy was wrong to take out his emotions on these geese. I hate Canada Geese more than rats but they should not be abused in such a curel manner. When I first heard about this I did not feel bad for the animals based upon my dislike for them but when I found out that he had chased them and the bodies were scattered over an area the size of a football field I changed my opinion and yes, he should be punished.

I do get upset when so much time and attention (media coverage) is paid on an incident like this just for ratings and so little attention is given to matters that are truly important. There is a shock value to the strange and different. When a child is hurt or killed there is such little reaction because society has been numbed. The public reaction when an animal is involved is that the evil dooer should burn in hell after he has been castrated and sent to prison because he harmed something so cute.

AS a thought here....................... Has there ever been or have you ever seen a set of bones that was ever in a transitional period?????? OK like a half fish half say dog????? It is a fact there is NO evolution facts only therory.

And Ken once again I have agreed with all you say for the most part?? AM I evolving?? :) :Smarty: :Dou:

This sounds like a case of human mutation not evolution!

There is a pond where I work so the Geese are everywhere. The full grown ones will hiss and make noise but only when their babies are around. But there is NO need to chase and stomp them. They have hired a guy called the "Geese Police" that brings his muzzled dog out to chase them away.

    [IMG] Good one.

Half fish half dog? LOL. That's a good one too.

Actually, there have been bones (fossils, actually) found of transition periods. Why look there, though?

Just follow the changes of dogs or horses (or food crops for that matter) over the past several hundred years. Sure, most of this is selective breeding on our part.
However, the basics are the same as with evolution - that is why it is called natural selection.

There are many cases of "evolution" presently occuring in the wild.

Who said "frogs from giraffes". We see evolution all the time in animals. Ever heard of the Galapogos(sp.) islands. Birds who have lost the ability to fly because they now have no need (food and security abounds) as for New Orleans SEWER(not septic) system- Another yankee who thinks his s*** doesn't stink. :Brow:

It's funny, the whole evolution thing

Fish don't evolve from dogs, though, and people don't necessarily evolve from apes

If you dislike the theory of evolution so much, please, at least spend some effort to find out about what it is, rather than what you assume it is or what other uninformed folks have told you it is. I have heard an anti-evolutionist actually say, "Evolution can't exist because there are too many species". Too many species for God to keep track of?! That's putting limits on God's powers, which is impossible, given the fact that he is God. He can make contradictory things agree. There is no limit to His power, and no limit includes anything you can, and cannot, imagine. just the way it works. But Man still thinks he knows what God does, did, and will do. Very arrogant, don't you think?

Fact: people today are on average, taller than they were in the 1600s. Something made Man grow taller
Fact: If God wanted people to evolve, He could do it. If He wanted species to obey 'laws' of nature, He could do that, too. If He wanted it

Those two facts do not cancel each other out, and are not mutually exclusive. To argue that each is impossible, untrue, or disproves the other is to assume complete knowledge of both science and the Almighty and to ask others to acknowledge you have complete knowledge of the same

Both sides to this argument need to understand the other but seldom bother to try

    What's the movie..."reap the wind"?

Anyone know about that? Do you also know that the real court case was not a dogmatical or spiritual issue at all, but a stunt? That, too, is a fact. And I leave you to ponder and use the free will God gave you :)

    Evolution is a religon.
Why would a God who loves mankind, put man through millions of years of agonizing
evolutiuon? Thats not the characteristic's of any loving God that I know of.
The only thing I see evidence of EVOLUTION in, is man's evolving sin and stupidity
and turning further and further away from God/Jesus.

That may be. But surely you would agree that what God does is not always clearly understood by Man, and just for the simple reason that Man cannot fathom God's will in a matter, doesn't preclude that from in fact being God's will

    God's will

    Chris, Question's for you...
How can we know what Gods will is in regards to evolution? Can we know?
What does his " breathed word" say? Not just in Genesis but all throughout
the Bible. How can we know the Bible is or is not true? :)

PLUV, i was refering to a particular smelly place, my brothers bathroom on st charles st. so i choose to use septic rather than sewer. if it makes you feel better his apt in boston stank worse. But i delt with the smell and the holes in the wall, after all its gods will that i inhale wet poop particles, on my visit to the big sleazy. ( a highlight was seeing rebirth at the dragon's den)
god can do anything, i bet god could make a half dog half fish if he wanted to. it would be aquamans best friend. He could name him splash and play fetch with a octopus.
i bet god could make a rock so big that he couldn't move it , but then that would mean he wasn't all powerful, cause he can't move it, so i guess he couldn't but that would mean the same thing i think.
i like the idea of a fishdog for aquaman lets all pray hard
    for the creation of splash.

Ken,I am surprised you got a bad smell in the Garden district. Now if you were actually at puke alley (Bourbon Street for the non locals) Then I could understand the sewage smell.

After all,why bother going into one of the hundreds of bars, when you can just puke or relieve yourself in a doorway.Ah,I love the night life.Hang around Puke Alley until three am and you get to watch the firemen open the firehoses to wash it all away.

Why would a god who loves mankind put it through any agony - even in modern times. What says evolution is agonizing, anyway?

In a religion, we believe a book is true, we try to find congruency throughout the book, and we don't objectively try to prove it isn't true.

In science, we hypothosize a book is true, then we find objective tests outside of the book itself to try to reject our hypothesis.

Religion concerns the spiritual, science the physical.

The two are not mutually exclusive, and even if a religious book were "disproven" it would only "prove" a physical book to be incorrect - it would not disprove the existence of spiritual beings.
