I'm not sure what the deal is with the outlet size. The Modine 365 4-row rad. for our cars says the outlet is 1 9/16" or 1 3/4".

Here's the one I've been eyeing for my car. It's the 4-speed model without the trans cooler(trans cooler model is 1/2" wider). I've done some measuring and it looks like it will fit pretty well except for maybe the extra drain on the bottom of the pass. side tank. Possibly a better plug or a small hole drilled in the bottom of the rad. cradle would remedy that. I don't see any other issues, do you guys?
Says it fits multiple models but is listed as Chevelle.

I don't think these are a bad deal when your'e talking $225-$250 for the Modine 4-row.

    radiator

I bought the Howe radiator, and I have to say, its very well made, and I called them up and asked them to change the size of the inlet, and relocate the drain, and they were very very willing to make changes at NO EXTRA COST. They were very nice to deal with and made the radiator in two days and shipped it over to me....a whole $200...I went with two Derale 14in 1725cfm fans from summit for $80 each and thats as far as I got. I'll post some pics when I can.

One thing I cant figure out is the radiator cap. It says in the instructions for the radiator not to use a 16 lb cap, and it says in the paperwork for the 22 lb cap I bought, for racing only, and not to use it on the street. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK?

Also it says in the material from howe that proper installation and filling is key. The way I have always installed these is to install the rad, and fill as much water as you can into the system, and with the cap off, start the engine, and keep filling it until its gets warm, and then turn it off, and let it cool then cap it. Is there a better way? I know that you want to get all the pressure out.

Also I bought a Milodon 160 degree high flow thermostat. Any thoughts on these?

I'd run the 16lb radiator cap since it says the 22lb cap is for racing only and the instructions for the radiator say 16, and I've always filled the radiator the way you suggested with distilled water to keep me going long enough to get it to a shop where they can pressure flush it with 50/50 (since I keep the same coolant in all winter). I'm sure there are better ways, thats just how I do it.

I bought a Griffen 31 x 19 aluminum universal. It looks like I'll need to pad the top and bottom as it sits in the stock core support. The tank seams don't fall in the stock rubber mount location. My 4 pass Modine core is 28-1/2" seam to seam while this Griffen is only 26-1/2" seam to seam. The filler neck on the passanger side has to poke out from the top cover so on the other side the Griffen will be completely under the top cover. I hope it will look OK.

He's the setup I'm running. It's a Be Cool universal w/dual 12" flex a lite fans, a meziere water pump, hollowed out t-stat, 185 thermal switch for the fans and water pump, and a manual over ride swithc and the engine never gets above 210 in traffic on a hot humid day.

Mike, how's the longevity/durability of the meziere electric water pump? How many miles a month do you drive it?

    James,
Unfortunitly, I haven't driven the car much this year but, they are made to last as long as a mechanical pump or even longer. There are a few of my friends that run them and have been doing so for years on their street cars.

To spend a little extra and protect the 464 investment, today I ordered the Ron Davis Rad package. 3-4 week back-order though.

The price was steep at $947.00US and another $108 for the wiring, relays, sensor and misc materials.

It does get hot up here in Alberta and the BC interior. Glad the Canadian Dollar is doing better these days. Man, this Buick hobby is pricey for us. :Dou:

I kinda like Doug Heckers Proverb: "Its only money... I can always make more".

Nice looking set-up Graham. Did you have to do any mods....rad cushions ect?
    And what......no motor?

No mods whats so ever. Dropped right in on the factory mounts. I'm in the process of detailing the engine bay. That was a preliminary shot. The motor is out and waiting for pulleys from Robs Buick. :TU:
