    Gary,

If I remember correctly you still have a 2.48 first gear, do you have a second gear leave option with the trans brake?
You're going to need to get rid of some starting line ratio even moreso now with the instant torque of the blower.

I would not even try to go blow through these days, you'll end up getting pennies on the dollar for everything when you switch to EFI down the road

Correctomundo!! Its great for grudge stuff and general having fun,..but going rounds, fighting the track, and making over 1200hp you'll save money in the short run ha

If running straight methanol I'd go mechanical fuel injection before a blow through carb if cost is an issue. Then when ready sell off the parts not needed for the switch to EFI.
Give Mike at Alkydigger a call and see what a setup from him would be MFI or EFI.

Glad to hear your plan is to stick with the TriShield, but in a different direction. As you probably know I'm building a mild 535 Tomahawk with an F1r and 10 lbs of boost. My goal is a pump gas 1100-1200 hp street cat that can hopefully dip into the 8's. I also plan to go EFI at a later date for cost reasons. I already have the carb, hat etc and I also have a Holley stand alone digital dash that I'll use now and be ready for the EFI when the time comes.
Best of luck with the change and you definitely have my support!!

Very cool .. exactly what I told JW I wanted way back when the Tomahawk was just beginning to be talked about by TA. What do you figure that setup will make N/A and how streetable will it be .. like PowerTour streetable ?

OK, yes I have a Griner transbrake with 2nd gear launch, even when running the 3.70 gear I could easily stand the car on the rear bumper, looked great in pics, God Awful landing and trying to go faster... I did got to a 4.10 gear recently, and with the 2nd gear launch, car has gone 1.24 60 ft.(1.22 on the rear tires has been its best) 5.60 @ 124mph at 3350lbs, on a single nitrous unit jetted to 350hp.... I've heard that there's a few out there building belt driven 1000hp+ "street cars". I'm not going to claim street car anything, and still need to figure out many key components for this build.....John Everette, are you talking about something like a "flying toilet"??? As I mentioned this kinda "build" is not cheap, I thought I could make it all happen for $10K, after talking to The Supercharger Store and Procharger, the procharger, crank drive, and big red waste gate valve, that was $9800..... I did find a used F1x-12R procharger, had it shipped straight to Procharger for inspection & shaft upgrade, cheaper than new, but still expensive. Crank drive is about $3200, and I'll still need to tear down the 475ci bullet and knock 2 points out of compression, so pistons, probably rods, bearings, balance. etc....... I'm at the "tip of the iceberg" phase right now...

Mike calculates it to be right around 700 HP NA. I believe it's going to be very streetable …………… not sure about PowerTour streetable…….... possibly?? I don't think I'd do it though. My pockets are not deep enough to commit to that level of "wear and tear" to basically cruise long distances. I did spend good money on the key items to make it live well on the streets...… radiator, trans cooler, gearing, hyd. roller cam, etc. etc. My goal is to keep it more of a local cruiser and occasional Buick event/race. I doubt I'll get enough track time to be consistent enough to be real competitive in S16 or GSR, or local brackets for that matter. (But you never know!!!! LOL) Just want to be able to cruise and go fast when needed!!
Gary's level of build is a completely different animal...………….

Gary the setup we are using is basically 8 Enderle port nozzles for boost application (non vented). Large throttle body linked to the fuel barrel valve/K valve. We have things set up to run up to two more nozzles in the inlet charge to add more fuel at full boost. All mechanical no computer.
You can run a V300 race pack or similar data logger.

Thanks Gary. I’m going to have to do a bunch of research....With my lack of FI knowledge, I think converting my intake manifold to have injectors and rails, would be “easier” but I’d have to get a different ignition box.., My Grid is only like 7 months old...

Spending that kind of money wears on you. It’s always a losing endeavor. One of the reasons I sold my Buick was the giant sink hole of engine rebuilds. I was just afraid to drive them hard anymore. I wish you the best.

Gary if you need to sell your grid off let me know, it's something I plan to buy here soon for our car

So I'm going to throw my .02 in, if you couldn't get a cam to push the nitrous to the horsepower you wanted how will you get a cam for the blower or any other power adder?

The cam I have will work for the blower combination, it’s not “ideal”, for “max effort” I’ll still need a cam 116+ LSA, BUT as I save money to do this the required cam cores will become available,, Also, like I mentioned before, just changing to a different nitrous cam may not give me the extra power, plus I’d need more nitrous & bottles to support the 500+ “hits”, that’s basically 1 bottle per pass, with the blower, there will be more “cheaper” power in the long run.....Plus I’m excited about trying this boosted combination, it’s “the future”!

Copperheadgs, trust me, I know about “wearing on you”... Before the TA block came out, I was there, as I pushed iron block 455 based motors pretty hard, the Tomahawk blocked motor is Lucky Number 13!!! Changing things up keeps it exciting, plus if this actually works out, the Buick with get More well deserved “credibility”..
