It was a great day overall. Weather was perfect, company pleasant and engaging. 20+ cars of all types... mostly Buick. Food was awesome. Rich(FLGS400) got to stay in the penguin's nest for the night and came out without a crumb on him

Board members I had the pleasure to meet this weekend were GSFredsbuddy, RoseBud68, and stump puller455. Enjoyed meeting you all and taking about your Buicks (and other projects, Mike).

Whoa! Where do I begin? "Rich in the penguin's nest..." Too funny Steve, but so true! Yes, Rich did stay in the female penguin's nest. I can assure Rich, and the Buick forum, I did clean that room from top to bottom right after they left. I didn't want any feathers, or crumbs left over to remind me of their visit. (What I didn't get to do.) A couple of years ago Steve came down for a Buick Get Together. He brought me a gift. A real nice penguin stuffed animal. I wanted so bad to sneak into the penguin's roost where Rich laid comfortably asleep, and place the stuffed penguin animal in bed with Rich. Then take some cute pictures of Rich dreaming about some wild adventure in Antartica with the penguin animal. Unfortunately, the stuffed penguin animal was in the back seat of my convertible which was locked up. Bummer! It would have been a lot of work to get to the convertible.
Friday... Rich showed up in the afternoon after his 200+ mile trip to my house. His beautiful '69 GS400 made the trip without any problems. Rich was ready for the "Get Together." Shortly after that Fred and his buddy Mike showed up. Let the party begin! A short while later, about 5:30 PM, Steve called up and said he had checked into his hotel. He wanted to know if someone could come to the hotel, pick him up, and bring him over here. Oh hell no! He was literally only about 5 miles away, but with rush hour traffic in full swing it would have easily taken over an hour to get him. My youngest son, Scott, was over here. I asked him, how do you Uber someone? Fortunately, he had the app on his phone, and we sent someone to bring Steve over here. Once we got the whole gang together, my whole family, Fred, Mike, Rich, and Steve, we ordered some pizza and chowed down!
Early evening and Milton, AKA Stump puller 455 showed up with his entire family. I've known Milton for quite a while. His kids, especially his 2 sons, were kid size. Boy does time fly by! Both of his sons tower over me! The oldest has just started college, and his other son is a senior in high school. His awesome wife and daughter came over too. Milton came over for the pork shoulders. Milton has cooked the pork shoulders for the "Get Together" for I believe 6 years now. THANK YOU, Milton!!!!!! The first year Milton volunteered to cook the pork my wife and I were wondering if he was going to also shred the pork for us. He brought the cooked shoulders over in a cooler and handed them to me. He said, they're all done. I had a big smile on my face thinking they're all shredded. My wife got a big serving tray, we open the cooler, and there's a steaming hot, whole pork shoulder wrapped in foil, un-shredded. Bummer! So we get two big forks to shred it. It literally fell apart just touching it!!!!!! Milton knows how to cook them perfectly!!! I can't thank you enough Milton!!!

Saturday morning, Rich and I woke up and were drinking some delicious coffee out front. I couldn't help but notice he had feathers all over himself. LMAO!!! Just joking Rich! We drank our coffee and talked about what needed doing for the Get Together. We set up tables in the garage for serving food. We set up tables and chairs in the driveway for sitting at. Soon my son got off work and he brought over some more tables and chairs. Then Rich went with my son to the town water department to get ice for the coolers. (That's where my son works.) I went to the store to pick up some last-minute items. We all met back up and pretty soon everything was ready.
Steve showed up a little while later with the "race car!" Oh hell yes!!! He parked in the apartment parking lot across the street. First, we checked out his new slide in camper he bought on the way down. Dang he got a great deal on it, and it was really, really nice. He's going to be styling this year in the BG campground! Then we opened the doors to the trailer to check out the race car. Oh hell ya! We got the car out of the trailer and onto the parking lot. Steve says, "Who wants to drive it over to the house?" I thought he is surely joking! My son, Alex, says, "I do!" Steve says, "Hop in and I'll show you what to do." What!!! Alex hops in, Steve shows him how to start it and shift it. Alex backed it up into the street, turned left and put it in drive, and down the street he went with that wild engine cackling down the street. Alex parked Steve's car right in the middle of the lower driveway. Oh ya, we all know it was going to be the "center piece" of the party!

Oh no, not code enforcement? Sure enough, we had just barely gotten Steve‘s car parked in the driveway and code enforcement goes driving by. A hush came over the get together. What was code enforcement going to do? Out of the code enforcement truck steps this cute little 20 something girl dressed in her cute, but official outfit. She had a cute smile on her face, and she said, “I want to sit in the car!” Steve got her into the car, put the seatbelts on her, and showed her how to start it up. You should’ve seen the smile on this young lady's face! We actually know her, but some people at the get together thought we were busted. Rich got to be a race car driver! I heard him say, damn it’s hot inside here! Steve said, now imagine putting a fire suit on. Holy mackerel! 41098024-3441-4B2F-A286-0EE20F09C7C5.jpeg 83040A78-A28C-42A4-956D-F8FF0C3386F2.jpeg 809A864A-FB54-4081-B9F0-DB250C6E10E8.jpeg

Some local friends. Chuck drove his beautiful 67 Buick down for the party. I got to say, if I was to ever get rid of my 68’s, I would buy a beautiful 67 like Chuck’s! 95F29BED-D6B8-4788-82D6-3BC870DC751C.jpeg 240B80CE-B104-4DA1-A156-926B87221035.jpeg

Manny drove his beautiful convertible down from Port Saint Lucie for the get together. He’s been working on it for quite a few years and this was I believe it’s first trip on the highway to come down for the Get Together. 864DDEC0-1CD6-4E1C-B1A7-18FFC0BF633D.jpeg EFB60CDC-A117-46EB-BC59-05105377AF91.jpeg FBBE64E4-ED6F-4848-B679-2E5D67FB6B23.jpeg
