    ethan buicks rock!

I do have to say... the colors and the interior are awesome. The wheels, on the other hand, are pretty terrible. And the flames... uh, er, are lame.

Lose the flames and those awful wheels and I'd be pretty happy with that ride. Though I think I like the 'Before' picture just as much! :puzzled:

You also need to remember that this guy probably spent more than a few months worth of paycheck money to build the engine. He was building the car one piece at a time and everyone seems to be making fun of this.

Exactly. Lowriders have been around since the time of muscle cars. It's an equal hobby in my view. NOTHING like rice at all.

Thanks for the pics. After seeing it, I can honestly say I don't like it. Wheels, and paint scheme just don't work for me.

I read some of you saying about not getting good shots of the body when there finished. Do you really think any of these cars get shotty body work. Anywhere they go people are going to know they were cars from the show. If they wernt done right that would be very bad for the show and more so for Chip Foose. I myself wouldnt have done the car that way but for that kid it was great. And whats wrong with chevy motors? I love my Buicks and have been guilty of putting Buick 455's in Pontiac's and Chevys . But what gets me and my wife around everyday, We both drive Chevys. Heck if i wernt such a dye hard Buick fanatic i'd go with a chevy, much cheeper to build.

Do you even know what a lowrider is? It's NOT "bling bling". They're another version of the classic car hobby, NO different than the guys that take a model t and make a roadster out of it. They aren't idiots that buy escalades and put "20's" on them.

It looks like a nice car... few probs though...1st of all, its got a chevy engine, if your going to put a chevy engine in something buy a chevy, he just ruined another buick by putting a chevy engine in it, 2nd of all, if I want my car to hop up and down im going to keep it BUICK, and if I want my car to hop up and down, with my 140 lb body if i can jump up and down in it it might hop a little, and the final problem is I have no problem with lowriders themselves, just the people who get them and ruin the american view of the car. just my .002 cents, lowriders are cool, but that one, I wouldnt want it.

OK, well definitely a chevy engine , so I stand corrected (seeing it from the back very quicklymust have been it, but still wondering about the valve covers, they looked odd..lighting perhaps??).

I still say they nailed the concept for the kid.

    EXACTLY!!

That's what the guy was trying to build for himself because that's what he wanted. They built it for him. Who cares if they used a chevy, it's not your car so why worry about it? Face it, a chevy 350 is cheaper to build and if the guy ever breaks something, he can fix it for less money. And based on the way the car looked when they brought it in, he doesn't have alot of it.

To anyone talking about the paint job:
It's alot more 3d than it looks in the pictures. Watch the show and you can see the depth alot better.

    This car is absolutely beautiful........

    I hate it.

Attention Lowriders and pimpologists of America: Please do not start using Buicks just because your Impala has too many bullet holes or was featured on AMW. There are still plenty of other Chevys around for your consumption....:bglasses:

I like the car and appreciate the work it took to get it where it is.

But the "Cheby" engine has got to go.......

I like the nail head idea maybe with 6 deuces and some edelbrock covers...

    Over hauled

I think the show over haulin really stinks along with all the other shows on how to destroy old American iron .All they do is ruin cool American cars. Every day we loose thousands of old cars to scrap only to be replaced by crap from some God forsaken country and get wind blown up our ass,s about how we as Americans can't build a decent automobile! Every time I see some Dork making payments on his gay import and then have the balls to hang an American flag sticker or a God Bless America tag in the window I just want to vomit. I think Chip Foose is gay too:moonu:

Where do you think that skylark would be without the show. Not likely it would have been around much longer.

    Re: Over hauled

I can't really disagree with anything you said...that's why people like us hate demo derbys and show's like pimp my ride, thankfully, you don't really see that many old cars on there, and then when funk master flex comes on, just look at all the old car's he does over:( Some of them aren't bad but most of them are ruined. As long as there is people like on V8 buick board and many others the hobby will stay alive. Where did all the good shows go like hemmings my classic car and american muscle car and dream car garage, them are all great series, but most of the time I see old reruns that i've watched a million times, maybe I dont have the TV in my posession at the right time, but most of the time all I see is old reruns.

    gs4u2c Is that a 442?

It's just the old car version of "The Tuner". Now that show REALLY sucks. Let's take a 4 banger import and spend $10K on it to lower it, change wheels and add a turbo......

I truly think America has to wake up and take a good look around we used to be the most inovative country on earth . Now that I'm old enough to be a consumer all we get is foriegn crap and what's worse is that they tag that garbadge with an American name, Remember when they had the nerve to hang a Nova tag on a terdodor crapola? I know that most of us that write in here are into cars that aren't main stream (Camaro, Mustang 55-57 Chevy) PersonallyI would restore any Chevy and drive it with pride than buy some of the junk they allow people to register today I'm a die hard Olds nut But I love all REAL American cars. It's truly sad to see what was started 100 years ago by truely innovative people be destroyed by politics ,insurance companies and tree huggers If it wasn't for people like us there wouldn't be any history left
