Seen a commercial for OverHauled for this Tuesday and its gonna be a 67 Skylark 2dr........and it looks like its gonna be "chico Style low rider".....we'll have to watch this one! :TU:
Yeah, I mentioned that last week. I'm wondering how they're going to modify the engine bay in a week to accept the standard shibby crate motor.
It's actually called Overhaulin'. It's on TLC. http://tlc.discovery.com/fansites/overhaulin/overhaulin.html
That's a great show...... If you like custom Chevys. All OPGI parts (we know how I feel about those bastards)..They even "Overhauled" a guy that works there, Jeff. What a door-knob he is. They should've Overhauled his brain. Can't wait to see how they Butcher a Buick.
The mock-up car looks to be in much better condition than the 67 post-coupe Skylark. Yikes, darn car is full of rust! Darn stereo and visual system will be worth more than the car!ou:
Think about it guys...the dude doesn't look like he has much spare change...I think the car getting done is actually good, people will see that buicks can look good (you might not like it, but hey others don't have a problem with it). I'm sure your first few cars weren't concours winners, either! At least the dude will keep his car, and maybe the hobby will progress to him doing a correct GS or something, who knows. And yes it had a chevy engine coming out, but guess what dudes?? They may have put a buick engine back in (judging by the engine shot in the middle of the show, it was definitely not a chevy, although it had odd valve covers on it, I recognized the heads and layout right away). Did someone tape the show to confirm?? I think people need to lighten up a little bit already, we are only limiting ourselves by not accepting rods or customs, in the end, it is still a Buick, and not everyone wants a total resto stock ride. Later Dudes! Tim
The car is done in true "low rider" style, which is what that kid would want and love, I think that car looks killer, love the color, the great thing about the build is the boy now has something that he would never be able to get any other way. Good job Foose! :TU:
I liked the way it turned out. It's more of a "lowrider" now but at least it looks better than it did. The 4 1,000 watt subs that make up the backseat is a bit much though.
I have never been much of a fan of the post cars....................until tonight. Paint scheme turned out awesome, it appeared to me to be a SBB, but I thought I saw a Chebby trans somewhere in thereo No: Tom
The heads on the engine going in were DEFINATLY SBC. Also had the Chebby waterpump holes next to the timing cover.
Did anyone else think that the brothers+mom overeacted just a little? The guy is just happy and everyone else was crying their eyes out.
