I talked to Mike and Sherri at TA and by what I hear from them the Tomahawk blocks are selling fast. How many are out there and how are they being used?
Are you referring to the original run or has there been another run? Wasn't there about 30 in the first run?
I took it as all blocks in the current run were spoken for/sold and I would have to wait for the next order.
Weren't they planning a run of stock style blocks a while back? I would be scared about having to wait for another run. I can't see TA casting them without some demand ahead of time. That's why Chris and I sprung for one early. Didn't necessarily need it at the time but we were afraid of having to wait for the second run.
"I have one. 6000 dollars solved all my problems, probably has already paid for itself." How true and I could not agree more. I wish I had done this in the first place, ordered mine first thing this morning so its headed my way. Regards, 455NGLIDE
I have a "stock" second run block reserved. I also have one of the 3" main big cam bearing blocks from the first run.
Our block is from the second run and should be done in the next few weeks. Mike said they are at the final maching now.
I made a call to T/A yesterday. I didn't speak to Mike directly. The answer I got was: they're still at the machine shop and expected to be done @ the end of August. Doesn't bother me too much, because I don't have the cash for the internals yet......... Tuna
Just got off the phone with Mike at TA and there is not any blocks being shipped out right now. He expects not to even get them until the end of August (his guess is August 31), then has to do some finish up work on them. The current run of them has 25 being made. You will have to get in touch with him on how many of them are spoken for. I know two that are.
Sorry guys for getting hopes up. When I spoke to Mike in early June he was hoping for end of July. It is out of his control I guess. Looks like the procharged Skylark won't make BG this year. I guess my son could bring the Skyhawk & run 9:00 if he wants.
Its great that Mike is able to sell these in stock or custom form, as for those that havent got one or seen one, they really are a nice bit of gear. Everyone over here that has seen mine is very impressed. Keep up the good work Mike and crew at TA. Is this going into your Nova as per your signature? Buick in a Chevy, bout time :3gears: Cheers
