Oops, misunderstood you there. Thanks for the compliment on "Josephine", she is the family pet around here. She looks MUCH better in that avatar then she really is though. Just sold my Hurst Olds so ole Josephine is finally going to be getting some much needed help though. Thanks:TU:
Dat Cat! Yeh, after zooming in on this 4 speed console I'm really curious how this thing works. Does the plate that surrounds it move along with the shifter to allow it to travel I wonder? Anyone know? I've seen production numbers of 30 on some other year 4 speed Wildcats. Anyone seen a number on the 64's? Guess this was the last year for the full sized cars monopoly on owning the road with the introduction of the GTO's . Course some of those big ole boats would still "haul the mail".:Brow: 401 4 speed cat, man I can't wait!
The shifter actually mounts on a cast aluminum mount on the floorboard just under that chrome plate, a there is a black plastic plate around the shift arm that slides and seals the hole. John....did you get the car? Peace WildBill
OooooooH YEH! Thanks for the info and "YEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSssssssss Sir" I got that Cat! http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29424 I am really really excited about it:Brow: :Brow: Transporter is to pick it up today . Can't wait to mow through those gears man!:bglasses:
Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That will be one cool car......Welcome to the ranks of 4-speed WILDCAT owners.......we are special and few. How many other lucky people on this board have one....stand up and be counted! Peace WildBill P.S. I have nice 15x7 5inchBC Buick Road wheels when you get ready to mount some FATTIES on the back.
I don't have a 4 speed cat yet but I do have another big car with a 4 speed. Getting dusty, hasn't been driven in awhile.....
Thanks Wildbill, I'll let ya know after I see whats on it. TopCat, I'm really diggin on that 4 speed console in your Super Sport. It has been so long since I've had a 4 speed car that the wait is killin me.Hopefully the Cat will be here in a couple weeks.
Here's a 63-64 Wildcat "long stick" floor console. You could step on these if you were not careful. I've got pictures of the 64 4-dr sedan bench seat 425 2x4 ps pb ac cruise 2 series posi 4-SPEED WILDCAT that i had for a while in the 80's.Ordered by an insurance salesman in North Dakota. It had the same console. Peace WildBill
HEY, what's that on the back of the transport over there?!!:Brow: More details later, time to bust out some elbow grease. She's here though:beer :TU:
John.......looks pretty straight and solid to me. You are one lucky Cat to get that car at that price. Good luck and ENJOY. Peace WildBill
John she sure looks good. bet your more at ease now that you got it and can see what you got after the unknown and unseen purchase. looking forward to seeing more.
Hey Greg and Wildbill, Yes sir, glad to have her here. The previous owner and I just untangled a mess the transporter left us with which is why you haven't heard much more on the car today. Seems the transporter skimmed an extra $200 bucks off of me by taking the brake fluid out of the master cylinder and calling the car "undriveable". Took a couple days to figure it out but the previous owner wants to help out with the extra charge anyway, so that worked out. The car is going to take allot but it is 80% or better there, the motor runs, tranny and rear end sounds good . I'm going to be looking for red interior parts as the guys son started an extensive job of turning everything to black.Door panels, dash pad,the entire metal dash etc. Well I'm worn out so I'm hitting the sack.I'm glad to have the car,I just better never see that transport driver again! Anyhow enough of that, I've got a real cool ride to work on and I'll put that other stuff behind me. Depending on how we do the title (they bought it from the 1st owner but never officially signed it over) I'll either be the 2nd or 3rd owner too! :TU:
More pics? I keep popping back over here in hopes of seeing more pics. Please keep 'em coming. What a nifty car! Dan
Ok, let's see what I've got here.I was laid up all day but here are the pictures straight from the transport truck complete with every car fluid droppings from overhead cars, but it will still give you an idea.
