I am curious to see how many members on here are owners or have owned a 1964 LeSabre or Wildcat. Be it 2 drs, 4drs, hardtop, Sedan, Convertible or a Wagon. I am interested in your photos, stories, builds. I have been collecting photos of these cars for the last 2 years. You can thank my folks for the 64 addiction.

Probably more than you want to hear, but here goes...

On September 8th, 1964, my father and grandfather each bought a 64 Buick from Beifus Buick in <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]<st1:City w:st=" /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1:City w:st="on">Irvington</st1:City>, <st1:State w:st="on">NJ</st1:State></st1:place>. My father bought a Special station wagon that was the first car I ever rode in two years later and my grandfather bought a Wildcat coupe.

Since this is Wildcat thread, Ill concentrate on my grandfathers car but my fathers station wagon may be worthy of a write-up on its own. It was a part of our family for 16 years.
    <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com[IMG]<o:p></o:p>
According to the bill of sale, the Wildcat cost my grandfather $4232.51. $2145.00 cash and $2087.51 trade in value on a 61 LeSabre.
    <o:p></o:p>
My grandfather died in 1973 and my grandmother told me that I could have the car. She kept it for a few more years but it had been sitting outside for too long and my father convinced her to sell it to a junk yard. Before it was taken away, my father removed the center of the steering wheel, the Buick emblem from the grill, one of the Wildcat script emblems and a hubcap and gave them to me. I still have all of them.
    <o:p></o:p>
Sometime around 1986 Car Review magazine published an article about a 1964 Wildcat convertible and I knew that was the car Id have someday. It took me another 12 years, but in 1998, I bought my own Wildcat convertible.
    <o:p></o:p>
Its pretty well optioned with the single quad 425, Super Turbine 400 transmission, power windows, power antenna, Rallye wheels, and bucket seats with full center console and tach.

I haven't done much to it other than regular maintenance but one of these days it will get a better paint job and a new top. It could also use some detailing in the engine compartment and the front bumper definitely needs to be rechromed.
    <o:p></o:p>
Before this gets too long, there is one more thing to add. Since I got my GSX clone, I have been sort of ignoring the Wildcat. Until last weekend, I had not started it in about 11 months and the gas was close to two years old with no stabilizer. It started right up and ran fine. I didnt even need to charge the battery. Im not recommending this as normal procedure and its not going to happen again, but I think thats pretty impressive for a 44 year old car.

    Hey Neil
Im still hanging around. You seem to have the market cornered on 63-64 cars. Id love to see that 63 ragtop up and going and back on the road. Someday when I get to Tacoma, Id like to see your 64 coupe also and maybe see what parts you have laying around that I need or dont need. And have Sarge come also, if he ever gets time off, and b/s about our cars. Also if you want the road wheel id, pm me your email and i will forward a copy to you
    Have a Happy Holiday

64LeSabre455, do you have a '64 LeSabre or Wildcat?

I'm in Puyallup, but have a young friend in Kent who just purchased a very nice '64 Electra 225. We cruised to the Kitsap Peninsula last Sunday to check out another '64 Electra 225. Alex shot this photo of our two cars near the Union Ave. exit from Highway 16 in Tacoma.

We're talking about pulling together a photo shoot of the full-size early 1960's Buicks -- '61 to '64 -- at Pacific Lutheran University campus in Tacoma on January 1, weather permitting. Let me know if you're interested.

That would be cool to do but I will be out of state, all of my cars are still in the project stage. I know of a couple other locals that might be interested. What is the photo shoot for?

I need to clear out some of my stuff. Right now it is all in storage. Probably won't pull it all out until after winter. Then liquidate some of it. The 63 vert might or might not be parted out. I guess I'll decide this summer.

I decided to look through my albums and post some more pics. Some of these are from e-bay. Some are from the internet, and a couple are board members cars.

Yes I do know there is a 63 in there, but it looks so good.
