    Thanks Rob,

The number is 229-896-1566. Ask for Mike. They are in Adel, GA. A bit far away, but it worked for me.

The 231/239 sounds an awful lot like one of the old Ultradyne (bought out by Bullet) cams.

Sorry Hector, I do not have any readings lower than 4000 rpm. They might at the shop, I will ask them. Yes, I is a very clean and nice shop. Very organized as well. They are cooperative, easy to deal with, true to their word, and always available. Best experience I have ever had with a machine shop.

    Well,

I have finally gotten some time to begin swapping my engine. A friend of mine was kind enough to offer his garage and expertise. He has lots of room and and understanding wife. Thank You Brenda!! Oh, thank you too Jeff! Although I am a long way from starting her up, it is at least in and bolted up. I removed both my numbers matching engine and trans, and replaced them with another TH400 and my new "Wildcat Performance" 462, with a Precision 3000 stall converter. After I get all the bugs worked out of this, and hook up my Mallory pusher pump, I will be ready for phase 2. My new 8.5 posi rear end. I have not hooked up any electricals, or fuel lines yet, so I will post some pics of the finished product later. Let the games begin.

    Regards, John.:TU:

Here are a few more. That's funny, the new engine looks just like the old engine? That is just how I want it to look. Maybe the brand "X"'ers wont notice me.

    Hi Mike,

It was my pleasure to help you in any way that I could. Feel free to contact me any time you want. I will be posting some updates as they happen. I hope my build posts will give you some ideas for you to build upon. I hope you have as positive an experience, as I have had, with Wildcat. By the way, my headers are "Hooker", 1 7/8 cerama coated, long tube headers. I bought them from the GSCA. Good luck to you as well.

    Regards, John.:TU:

I hope to run high 11's, with minimal suspention modifications and M/T E.T. drag radials. Do you think I can make it? I will be running a new 8.5, 10 bolt 3.73 rear axle, instead of my stock 8.2, ten bolt 3.64. I will keep you posted with my progress. Thanks for you interest.

    Regards, John.:)

    Hey John,
What size tire will you be running? I am looking to get some new hides for my car once this is all set up. I have a rebuilt TH400 with shift kit already in, also a 3:23 Posi rear with the heavy duty suspension. Also debating what kind of stall if any to use. I am mostly just cruising car and my motor should come out around 500hp

Thanks Sootie007. I will post some times, good or bad. I am sure I will need some test and tune time. As long as the mile an hour is there, I am confident that the e.t.'s will come.

    Mike,

I am running a 28 inch tall tire. A Mickey Thompson E.T. street drag radial 275/60X15. You may want to use a 26 inch tire of the same type, with your 3.23. My size would kill your gear ratio. I have a 3.64 now and will be switching to a 3.73. Good luck, let me know how things progress. Say hello to Mike for me, next time you talk to him.

    Hi guys,

I just got my Blueprinting records form Wildcat. I have some corrections to make in my cam #'s. I feel a little uncomfortable with having given some false information in my previous posts, but it was the information I had at the time. They are not extreme differences, but differences none the less. I hope you will not think badly of me. Here they are: The cam specs are as follows. Duration @ .050 Intake/231, exhaust/242. Lift @ valve, intake/.501, exhaust/.527 (Same intake, but quite a bit more exhaust lift than I thought.) Lobe separation, 110, degreed at intake lobe to 105, 2* advanced.

My compression is 10.563 to 1. I am sorry if I misslead anyone on my build, it was unintentional. I hope this clears things up. Thanks again for all your support.

    Regards, John.:error:

    John:

Sweet combo! I'm sure you'll be more than just happy with the results.
Oh by the way the cam is set at 5 degrees advanced with a 105 cl and a 110 lobe sep angle.

My son is heading back to the Nats for his first time this year, they're leaving on Monday morning from AZ. He's driving back with Dave Johnson in his big white Renegade motorhome and staying at the track I think. Mike Modena is heading back with them and if the engine is done will be racing Mikes car (Jim Turners old blue 70 car).

    Wish I was going. :ball:

    Very nice car Johnny.

I was just wondering how much you drove this on the street, and how you liked the 3.64's.

I cant decide between 3.70's or 3.50's, i know i should go 3.70 or higher (750 hp :Brow:) but thought it would suck on the street.

    thanks
