    John,
    I just finished replacing my 8.2 10 bolt original rear with a built 8.5 with 3.73's. I raced my GS with MT Drag Radials for 11 passes all in the mid to high 12's. Everytime I launched I had my fingers crossed that it wouldn't break and it didn't. The original Buick 4 pinion 8.2 is a good strong rear, but hook it up enough times and it will eventually grenade.

    If you can swap the new rear in before you go to the track, all the better. If not, it should hold up for awhile, it did for me.

    I have some other issues with the car right now, but if things work out with the car, I may make 3 or 4 passes only with the 8.2. I will most likely baby it off the line. Haven't fully made up my mind yet.
