Not getting new, but getting back on the road after several years of being a stalled project in my garage, my mildly modified 1979 Corvette. If all goes well, the drive train will be all together this weekend, after that it needs paint and a refresh of the interior. It's got a modest build, a 355 C.I. that dynoed at 355 hp and 390 tq. backed by a tremec 5 speed with a .85 over drive. Oddly enough, the Corvette is the reason I got my Buick. The Corvette is too loud, too cramped and too hard to get in and out of, plus it is a handful to drive if the road is the slightest bit wet. The Buick has comfort, power, style and room for passengers and packages and it has good road manners too.
I'd like a Peterbilt for a daily driver.... diesel should get decent mileage, and its got the towing package Plus I can show up all those young dorks with 4" tailpipes on their diesel pickups
I used to disconnect the trailer and take our Freightliner out cruising when I was in high school .....I've always thought the same thing about getting a Peterbilt. Saw this beast at the Car d' Alene show last year, thought it was SWEET!
If you or Mark get an eighteen wheeler, you'll have to go pick up trunk monkey. You guys could go travel the highways of America, getting into various adventures and misadventures along the way. You'd probably end up meeting beautiful young women, who was in some way are affected by, or involved with criminal activity. You guys could gather enough evidence to defeat the bad guys.
Movin On, was just a bit before my time. I was referring to BJ and the Bear. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078564/?ref_=ttfc_fc_tt
