There is a plastic mesh fuel filter that fits the Qjet inlet. Its just like a paint gun mesh filter and you can clean and reuse it. I'll try to find the PN.

I didn't want to say it out loud but I feel about the same! Though I think the tank is going to have to be removed soon anyway for a different reason.

Nice! I'm sure that will help mosey things along.

I used the short filter in my Q-jet with long housing. The spring takes up the slack.

New pump installed, 7 psi at idle and a steady 6 under load and launch. I experimented well past my trap speed and could not replicate the nose over, fingers crossed that is over.

Now as if all that isn't enough.. Time to deal with the secondary air valve bogging issue, I had a feeling that my trusty q-jet would need some tweaking after this new intake.... Tackled it once before so I hope I can knock it out.

New pump has a different outlet location and I messed up my home bent hardline trying to make it work. So for now it will have rubber lines from pump to carb till I can cook up something fancy. Does it ever end????

Try removing the pull off valve and just using the spring tension, I usually find it easier to dial in that way

Thanks for the tip, on a side note you should see what I have in store for those buckets and console you set me up with. Not your everyday bucket swap.

How does the car "feel" now that the nose over issue is resolved, and you can really use/experiance the SP3?
Does it feel stronger at all rpm?
I know you said originally it felt stronger than the Stage 1, more details please:Brow:
Hopefully you can get it to the track soon, I know our weather here in Garfield Hts. has been VERY sketchy:eek2:
    Good luck to yah bud:TU:

It for sure feels better at all RPMs, I do not wind up the motor much past 5500 so I cannot give feedback about the higher RPM range. I cant describe how different other then the butt dyno , the track should tell the true story if there is one :TU:

Weather around here has been terrible for track days to say the least, and I am afraid that Thursday is looking no better. I want to give her a clean run and report back however it may have to wait till next week. There is still plenty to do until then!

Make sure the rubber lines you use are ethanol compatible ...

.. nice mounting job on the gauge, been there too

Careful with the rubber line. If you get the right tech inspector he'll send you home for that. I'd bend up a new steel line before you head to the track.

Using "AutoZone grade" rubber fuel line, and getting the sticky stuff off the windshield from the gauge mount was fun in itself.

It is a temporary band aid till I can bend one up. I am not a fan of having it there either, its on the priority list. :3gears:

    Edit:
Matter of fact.. It was so temporary that I stopped at my machine shop on the way home and got parts to make this..

    All better!

Thanks! The intake should be a good addition to any build. A roller cam is far away for my build but I bet someone will have some good results.

Looks good! And much faster.. I don't think I could have bent a line with the turns that were required.

Looking back, I could have clocked the pump more but that would require some creativity for the inlet. Not much, but some. Ah well.. I like what I ended up with.

Now if you went with an Aeromotive stealth fuel system all your fuel lines could look like that haha. That's a little overkill though until a power adder is involved.

Excited to hear what you will run now that things are hopefully sorted out. Tim from TA just called me today to ask what style plenum I wanted. I took the plunge and said square bore. So I guess I'll be selling my Q-jet soon
