I ordered a pair of Viking rears last night. After a few guys watched a slow motion of my cars launch on The Bullet, they said I needed rears.
Yea that's why I said most recommend rears first, but your set now! and new converter responds and a lot better on the street...hope same is for the track
The last one was to tight for the suspension I had then, it might have worked awesome with all this new suspension. BUT it was still laggy on the street till boost hit. No lag now! ---------- Post added at 09:52 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:50 PM ---------- Hopefully you'll get a 9 here soon too, you have a lot less work in yours but its hauling ass.
Now that the converter is hitting hard, all you have to do it put it down to the ground. Sounds like you have all the right hardware now to do it. I am in the same boat. I can get my 9 second time slip if I can just put it down.
You can hear the wastegate open up when it hits full boost, which is awesome cause I've never been able to hear it before. And boost came in so hard it killed the tires which it has never done before; and felt awesome haha
Well yesterday could have been bad...this happened right after a few pulls all the way through 2nd gear. Nothing a cutoff wheel and hammer couldn't fix! And then got bored while I was waiting on a ride so I decided to fix my exhaust because having something metal scrape under the car all the time is a horrible sound. Before it was the lowest hanging part under my car, couldn't even see the Trans pan. Now it's clocked to tuck up higher and I threw the end of the exhaust jnto a big vice and oval-ized the tubing haha. It works and no more scraping.
Last Sunday I went to local TNT and was hoping for some good improvements in the 60' and 8th before heading out to a 1/4 track...that didn't happen. 1st pass it went 1.48 and 6.54 leaving easy and boost only; never hooked again the rest of the day trying to leave harder. Took the car to the local chassis guy yesterday just to have him check it our and good thing, somehow the roll bar got twisted and in a bind. Also there was 0 pinion angle in the rear, don't know what happened there either... car went on a lil diet this winter and lost 50 something lbs Cant wait to get back to the track again and try it out
Not real sure right now, changed them so much that day. Chassis guy said it had no chance though the way the roll bar and pinion was messed up. i can check on settings later if your looking for the baseline that he gave me, but right now it's an ice storm here with no power and trees falling everywhere...not sunny Florida lol
Wow. The weather sounds interesting up there. Yikes. As for the shock settings, I have mine pretty much dialed in. I just wanted to see how close your settings are to mine.
Ill let you know when it hooks? Lol if the weather forecast doesn't change ill be racing sat and hopefully hook then
