Refunds are given no questions asked or as said roll it over to next year just like Buick Race day has done at Norwalk for the last 2 years. Jim I like you and what you do at GSCA for BSA. At this point your continuous raging on Moon and BPG is getting tired and old. At this point the we all need to support these clubs as the BPG has always been the club that includes everyone and financially helps everyone sometimes to it'e detriment. What is the Q-16 and other payouts at GSCA this year. BPG has donated $250 for Q-16, they did not have to but they did. This whole boat will sink so fast your head will spin, the old days are gone. Lets play nice. BUICK people are the best. Peace and Love-rant over.:beer:3gears:

just kiddin was nice to see every body.
Kinda bummed at pulling the trigger so early in the day. I think they could have pulled off the race even if we had to run 1/8 mile. But it is what it is.

    69GS400s ...my own amusement ride!

There were actually two car shows - the street in front of the hotel was blocked off both thursday and friday night .. and it became one big Block Party and Car Show all around the hotel with that WildCat Ted Negel and his band rockin the house down.

I was thinking on the ride home a third car show on Sat would have been rather redunantly redundant by then

sorry you couldn't make it - it would have been good to see you again

Not for the folks like me who couldn't get there til Friday night. I don't blame the track for shutting down the racing for safety reasons, but at other events (won't mention any names), the event goes on, even if racing doesn't. Not everybody is there to race or watch racing.

Tsk Tsk JR .. as someone who puts alot of effort into an event I would have expected you to take a higher route than grabbing the salt shaker and looking for the open wound so soon ..

.. then again, you did wait a couple of hours and until the ninth post

I think you may have offended alot more than just Phil .. :Do No:

Tim, the car show is supposed to be my baby, and just like the rest of the BOD, the show directors have been preparing for it for months. The LAST thing anyone of us wanted to see was the event canceled. As I arrived at the track yesterday morning, a rig rolled in right behind me. It was Croy Harris, the owner of the Best of Show 2012 (1973 Riviera). It was really hard to tell him that he was out of luck this year.

We were not going to keep the track open for X amount of people to MAYBE show up for a car show after the rain stopped at whatever time that may have been. From what we had seen, there were already a very significant number of cars that had left the track and hotel before the gate even opened at 8am. It just doesn't make sense in any way. The BPG still has to be run as a business. The bill must be paid somehow, and if the money isn't there, or won't be there at the end of the day, then the decision has to be made to cut the losses. The club would have lost our butts if we had opened the track that day and NO ONE SHOWED UP. Even if it was half of what was expected, it would be devastating.

This issue was discussed at length yesterday afternoon, regarding holding the car show off-site so that it doesn't affect track activities or closures. We will be exploring different options so that we may be able to enjoy the show in a more comfortable setting and time, rather than squeezing it in during the race program at the track. Stay tuned...

I hate we missed it this year. Sounds like the "Block Party" was the place to be.

Exactly! The nights at the hotel are actually more fun than the track! Even if I knew the BPG event was going to only be one day, I still would of attended. Hanging out with all my friends from V8, fixing cars, drinking beer and getting a chance to drive Mike Sobotka's 71 GSX was well worth the expense. Its only money, I'll make more.

I cant wait till next August!!!

Alan, I think its ironic how you and Phil call me out, but you NEVER call Ron out for doing the same thing. You cannot deny it. Why is that? Besides I made zero jabs at the BPG or anyone else except Ron. ZERO! And I think that if you look back at his history you will see I have every right to do so. While I dont wish Ron any ill will, I do enjoy giving him a dose of his own medicine every now and then, but dont see that as ill will toward the BPG. So give me a break.

Besides, I think your board time would be better spent addressing the legitimate concerns listed in this thread than chastising me.

Thank you Jim I look forward to seeing you and being at BG . Nice to know Buick people might like to stick together and keep personalities differences out. Sorry if I mentioned BPG as I am sure you have no animosity towards the club. Wont answer the other guy about betting on 1 club or the other. Can you say childish on this board?
    Great event guys.
