White lettering a "period" thing...during transition from whitewalls to black. If you're being "correct" or just like the look...go for it. I've gotten lazy in old age...blackwalls so much easier to maintain, I have more time for wheels...

For me, I dont like to be a rolling advertisement ... I think the white letters draw attention away from what people should really be looking at

Even Pops Kennedy thought so back in the day :Brow:

I also like letters in. In fact, I also spray black paint over the white letters so that you can't see them at all.

Still waiting for the wheels to show. Might take a while to get pics as car is off site for the winter.

With stock wheels you have to let them hang out!!

Not sure if I like the white letters with this setup, but will leave it as is for now.

My vote is for the letters in, with the exception of stock ralleys sporting either the goodyear polyglas or firestone wide oval tires which then the letters have to be displayed.

To me it depends on the wheels. On the dog dish 68GS400 I thought white letters looked dumb when I bought it so I turned them inside out and went with black walls. Also found some Stainless Steel 14" trim rings to dress up the wheels a little bit. To me it looked a whole lot better after that and the cost was almost nothing.

The other aspect is that I'm not a fan of white letter tires that are not correct to the car originally. If they didn't come on the car then, "SUPERCHARGER" kelly springfield tires, although they're good tires, don't look right to me on a Buick or any other car for that matter.

On the rallye wheels they look good as long as they are the right type of tires that could have come with the car.

    Awesome looking car Steve :TU:

on your car, the white letters tie into the white top and it definately works

    That looks good.

I saw the latest American Muscle Car show ( Chip Fosse ) and it was about MOPARS.

They showed a Charger that had whites out. Boy did it look bad with that car color and options. Others looked good, but that one.............................UG, it was just ugly
