I too will keep eyes and ears open here in Wisconsin. Hoping for the best for everybody (the good guys) involed in this.
Don, why do you edit someones post and then respond to that edit? If you read my whole post I said that I consider B.G. unsafe because of the attitude of the police dept. and the past history of car theft. How would you like to come out of your motel room and find your nice red convertible gone. Then you run to the B.G. police in a panic and they don't want to do Jack$hit for you. Once I heard this, I wouldn't feel safe in B.G. ever again !!!
I thought we were discussing car theft Yeah .. I couldn't make it. Which car did you bring? These events would be nothing if people didn't bring their cars to show and race :beers2:
anyone remember this epic thread about speeding and red light cameras at the BPG event. The BPG responded to the members issues. http://v8buick.com/showthread.php?t=185664&page=2
This whole subject is really a bummer and I really hate to hear this happening to members of the Buick community. Of course we all hope the cars are returned and the thieves caught, but at least this serves as a reminder for ALL of us all to NEVER take for granted that any parking lot is safe, no matter which city an event is in. One thing we do is make our tow trunk inoperable so that even if it is targeted, it is NOT going to start. I doubt that a thief is going to take the time to trouble shoot the issue and will just move to the next truck. Same thing for my car inside the trailer. Even if they cut the locks and get inside the trailer, there is a motion sensor alarm that will make a BUNCH of noise (check into these, they are battery powered and cheap at Home Depot). If they are able to find and disable that alarm before someone hears it, they then have to unstrap the car, and figure out the 4 things I've done to the car to prevent it from starting. Another thing we do is try to find a friend that will park their car so that the truck and trailer can not be driven away unless the car is moved first. It's sad that an honest person has to go through so much effort to protect their property, but my dad had his '66 Chevelle stolen many years ago and he has never let his guard down since then.
Didnt something like thjs happen a couple of years back but they took a bunch of mid eighties 442... these guys are not from that area they go out to get what they want they know its all planed out....
Ron, I fail to see how it's BG fault this happpened ? Were you aware that 4200 cars annually are stolen in Columbus ? And how do you know that BGPD , isn't doing anything ? because you read it on the internet ? From someone who has actually Investigated Auto theft for over 17 years I assure you that is not the case. You know we don't release details to the general public for a reason ? If you have a beef with the GSCA you should call them up and express your concerns. You know we got the event changed to October from May finally because it's members almost unanimously requested it. Posting disparaging comments on this forum isn't going to help. Most of the old heads aren't on the internet anyways. Take care, DL

Great news.:beer I hate people who steal. Frosts my ass like a midget with a snow cone standing behind me in a packed elevator.
So is there a plan to scan craigslist? I guess what I am suggesting is that we the buick brethern scan Craigslist for the those who lost a car. I would start by creating a thread that lists all the craigslist locations and have people volunteer to routinely monitor.... So you know what areas are being activlely looked and what areas are not. I know I've done my part in providing input into AZ Craigslist listings, particularly listings with pictures that do not appear not be of AZ in the background but are listed in Az craigslist over on the GNTTYPE.org Stolen Cars thread. -Chad
Use searchtempest.com and scan all the craigslists for the general region where they took the vehicles and the region where they found the car.
I have been following this thread on v8 and yellowbullet and I'm really happy to see the car and trailer were found. Let this be a lesson to all of us that the stealing of our toys is a big thing country wide and we all need to be more vigilant where we park our goodies. Billy ,I have never meet you but I have been sick to my stomach over all of this and hopefully your truck will be found next.
Inquiring minds would like to know this scumbags name and if in any way he is into Buicks and who his associates are. Seems like he knew what he was looking for and probably attended the event where it was taken. Sounds like an inside job by someone in the Buick community to me. Hope we can rule that out !
**********UPDATE************* Since this is already out on Yellowbullet---------> In conjunction with my department and the Michigan State Police. My car and trailer have been recovered. Truck is still missing. No further details will be given out due to the ongoing investigation. Thanks to everyone that assisted in locating my vehicles(s). Billy T. gnxtc2 @ aol.com
