Here are a few more of my '64. Still needs some cleaning, working the bugs out, hasen't been driven in 10 years. I have the orig tires, plug wires and protecto plate. I think it has the orig plugs still in it. ..
Archie I saved a few pics, hope you don' t mind. Gorgous car!! Why so high in the rear? Is that how you roll?
Not really. It needed new springs (look at the stock pic) I didn't think the tires would fit but they did with the original springs and it looked better but not much room. I could go back to the original springs with air bags. I didn't think it would raise the rear up that much (1 1/2). I just wanted air bags to raise and lower depending on the wheels but what a hassle. Its going to look stupid with the stock wheels back on unless I put the stock springs on it. This is with the stock springs .
I love that car Archie. I think it looks nice with a little rake to it. Looks good stock too. I have to get myself a 64 -65. I talked by email then called on the nice sounding 64 that I mentioned a few days back. Good driver interior, needs about a $200 rust fix. Call and it turns out the trunk pan needs replaced, and the water got there through the rust at the back window. Has a 65 console, it had a big block chevy in it that he tore out. You would have a bit of money into fixing the body, have to fix the motor mounts and on and on. Sounds like the car is worth the $500 I would spend going to get it. I'm still looking though.
New guy bump. I know there are a few guys shopping for these so go through it and see what model's you like.:TU:
Saw this out in Colorado- its a 4-speed, had the engine (300 I think!)painted silver, 67 air cleaner, clean and had the look- I just love the ride height , perfect. plus it sounded sweet w/duals.:beers2:
Schweeeeeeeet!!! That's exactly what mine's supposed to look like originally. Well, probably minus the rims. They weren't available until '65 were they?
Give me a week, well a week from next Tuesday and I am suppose to have something to post in this section!
Gotta tell you guys, looking at all your sweet cars just gave me the motivation to get up off my ass and go finish the mini-tub project I started on on my car. Thanks for the inspiration, I want this car done so I can tear up the streets like back in the day. Only, I don't want to be on a first name basis with the local law enforcement agency like back in the day. Rock on! Mike:TU:
Sometimes you gotta say wtf. Just get out there, put on some good tunes, nothing like Neil Young, more like White Zombie or Old Metalica, then get to work!!! I don't drink coffee in the morning, I put some System Of A Down or something!!!
Went to the Car Craft summer nat's today. got a few shots of the '64 at its first car show. One pic has my friends cars, a '70 Rebel Machine barn find with 27k on the clock and my other friend's gorgeous '66 GTO with a tri power 400 and a 4 spd.
My neighbor has a 67 goat so o have a soft spot for them. The 64 gto IMO is the best looking muscle ever made. Now that Rebel is amazing!! Any more pics of it? You just don't see them.
Hey Joe, the scoops are from a '71 GS hood that a friend of mine scrapped because it was bent beyond repair. As far as the Rebel I have one more pic at this time but I could get more if you want. It is a survivor from Maine that he bought with 25k on it after being stored for 19 years. It currently has a 304 in it so he can drive it but he does have an original '70 Machine 390 for it from a parts car he bought. The rest of the driveline is intact. It's not perfect, but easily restoreable. The interior looks great for the age.

Just got her home tonight. Here are the only pictures that I have so far. Camera is on it's way out, so I had to mess with them to get a red tint out of there. Halo top 64, nice chrome all around except for a few dings along the side trim. Tail light chrome and the grill look good. Body is nice. Engine may be a turd. We had to pour gas into the carb to get it to start and it ran out the bottom. They put a carb kit in it, but I would guess there is some warpage there. It smoked like a pig. The guy thought it was a head gasket, but I think it's more like shot rings. I will run a compression test, maybe pull the heads. I want this thing running good before the Vancouver / Portland Buick show in three weeks! I may see if rings and bearings does it, but first I need to see what the valves look like. Only want to make this engine good for a short time. After September I'm going to pull it and start trying to figure out how to put a 425 in it. More pictures to come when I get it off the dolly in the morning.
