Hi Joe; Thank's for your interest. I finally got the over-heating issue solved. I took a Boardmembers advice and used some gaskacinch. I didn't have the block or heads plained, so that might have been an issue. I had Denny Manner over and he told me the .02 gaskets would work just fine with the Hi-Comp pistons. But I had to wait about Six weeks for them. Sure tore up all the nice paint I put on. But I wanted it running. I took it over to "The Old Guy's" place and we went out for a cruise. He was impressed. He was also a big help. I had a build your own plug wire set and only used One wire from it. Joe had a pile of them. We tested them and found some good ones. I put the Battery in the trunk and ran the wire to a junction box on the fender. I had my wife braid Three 10 ga. wire's for me. That's what's coming off the Alt. I also picked up a new fan set-up. It's a Jegs brand. Twin fans pulling 2750 or so CFM. $180. It fit right in. No bolts either. The bottom fit where the stock shroud fit with Two pegs, and the top fit with the stock Radiator hold-down. I had an 800 QJ Carb on from my 455, then put the original 750 on, now I have a 750 AFB on it. I'm still messing with the Rod's and Jet's. I had to add some heigth so my TV Cable would work. My shift points are rather close together, but i'm working on it. It doesn't like anything under 1500. If i'm just cruising around, i'll leave it in 3rd. But if I put it in 4th lock-up, it'll start chuging. I'll either turn off the lock-up or use 3rd. With everything in the engine opened up from the Air scoop to the tail pipe, my low end torque is just about gone. But it pick's up pretty quick. I still have the heat stove opening under the snorkel, so really no ram air. But the faster I go, the more cool air it get's. Denny was over saying his 4th gear was hitting pretty hard. We both have BRF's so we compared TV cables. He's got a 455 tho. A big difference. His turned out OK, but i'm still messing with mine. One more Month and it goes back into storage for Six Months. But with the Rain and Dung Heap Weather we're having, I'm not going to get in much driving. But it haul's ass. I can finally take my Son in the '03 Regal GS we sold him. With his S/C, he can get the jump on me, but I catch up pretty quick. I'm 59 and have never been to a Drag Strip. So I don't know what it'll do. 750 Carb, GS 114 Cam from Postons. I called TA and was told at least 6 Weeks. K&N Filter, Fresh air, Heat Cross overs blocked, Electric fan's, Intake Ported and smoothed out, port matched to the Heads, Ported with a thank's to Devon telling me about not too much off the floor. I have the article from One of the Mag's on the 350 Head port job. Stock Exaust Manifolds port matched to the heads and smoothed out. Outlet taken out as much as I could. TA Down-pipes-VERY nice. I bought a complete 2 1/2" exhaust system from Jegs about 3 Years ago. It was for a system with headers. I just cut off the cone and took all the expandable inlets to Midas and had them enlarge the ends so they'd slip into the One in front of it. No Charge. So I tipped the guy 10 bux. I went back a few times. It was a system that was supposed to fit ALL A-Body cars. But it fit pretty good really. A 200-4r-BRF Trans from an 87 GN. I put in 3.55 gears with the intention of dropping in my 455. I had the trans over-hauled telling the trans guy that's what I intended. Also a larges 1-2 Band. That's what Joe T told me is what keep's going out of his in his 455 GS. But I put in the 350 and am happy. An Eaton posi and 15" Keystone Klassics. Boxed control arms, Bilstein shocks and a 7/8" sway bar. New springs with a 2" lift kit. I didn't like the Skylark ass dragger look. But i'm happy with it. Now I gotta find something for my 455 and ,66 / 425. But as i'm laying under the car I think to myself as all the crud is falling on my face, what the hell am I doing under here? i'll be 60 in a Month and I don't need this!! But I don't do anything else. I have been to about 6 Buicktown Club meetings in Six Years. My Psych tell's me to find people with like interests. But I still can't get used to crowds or people I don't know. Everyone is at least an arm's length away. But i'm still taking my Drugs. Can You Tell??:TU:

Hi Joe; This is about all i've got for an after it was done shot. I used to have those Rubber H block's in the springs. Now I have 2" Aluminum disc's from Mr. Lift Kit bolted to the spring pad with the spring on top of it. Usually all you can see of the back tire is maybe an inch above the rim. They work really well. No burn out pic's tho. Sorry.

Hey, How'd that "Old Guy" get in there!?
Hi Joe; I finally found some older pics of my car with the "H" Blocks on the springs. The First pic look's like it's too high, but really isn't.The Fifth and Sixth show how it was. But they're on my slanted drive. When in the garage the chrome strip is parallel to the floor all the way back. You can also see the tire a little better.

Here's a couple more of my 65. I have more miles on my Special this summer than I do on my 01 Silverado. I just can't get over how much I love driving this thing. These were taken the day of the Sycamore car show. We lined up a bunch of cars and made the trip in a group. I took a top 100 out of over 800 cars. Had alot of fun that day

The cop was a friend and co-worker of mine. He is on the phone calling one of the other cops to come check out the cars. They were about done for the day and on the way in to end shift/finish paper. He told me that he had seen well over a hundred cars cruising that morning. That picture was taken between 5 and 6 am. He said that cars had been heading towards the show in the next town since about 2-3 am.

I am by no means an expert, but that looks like a turbo 6 going into that. I really gave alot of thought to that when I was building my 65. Very cool.

Cool stuff. Should be fast, economical and reliable. I like when a car is done in a way that you don't see all the time.

    I need a 65!
