Who's gotta drop top?

My "Cruisin' Buick" is a 1972 LeSabre Custom Convertible in soft yellow with tan interior and white top. I always wanted a GM Barge Convertible from the 70s, and preferred either a 1971 or 1972 model to avoid UBS [Ugly Bumper Syndrome].

Here it is, surrounded by three 1964 Studebaker Daytonas!

The LeSabre is a fairly nice, almost all-original-paint car. The lower portions of the quarters have been painted, but that's it. It's never seen any collision or bump work. Original interior in nice condition.

I'm the third documented owner. It was sold new in Greencastle IN. The original owner kept it until 1984 and then traded it back to the same dealer. The person from whom I got it (about 15 years ago) bought it from that Greencastle dealer.

The original top was bad when I got it, so I had a new white top installed at the time. It had the standard full wheel covers, but I installed a set of the correct Buick "chromies" I like, and a new set of 225 radial tires. My son is not exactly into large convertibles, but when he first saw it with the chrome wheels, he said, "Gee, Dad, that's not so butt-ugly after all!" (Hey, you have to take compliments in whatever manner you can find them!)

At 95,235 actual miles as of today, it is an unusually nice driver and a little rare, too: There were only 2,037 LeSabre Custom convertibles built in 1972, against 2,396 Centurians. It drives tighter than either of my Studebakers, but kindly don't tell my Studebaker friends when you see all of us at The Pure Stock Muscle Car Drag Races! <G> :TU: BP

Here's my 71 GS. Bittersweet Mist is the appropriate color. I live in Houston and bought the car about a month ago. It's rained 25 out of the last 30 days. Sweet car, but bitter about not being able to drive it.

    Can't rain forever though!

'64 Skylark. Mild Custom. Trim shaved, etc. Very red but don't know what from as I bought it painted. Has a later Buick 350 for now but there is a 425" nailhead on the engine stand. Steering has been upgraded with a fast box. Also have all the parts to update brakes and suspension. I have both F body and B body spindles. Does anyone know if the B body spindles pose any problems other than wheel size and bolt pattern for the 12" rotors? Also why are cop car brakes supposed to be better than regular B body brakes? I love the car and will probably keep it a long time (mainly because it will probably take me forever to get the stuff done that I want to do to it).

Just purchased a 72 Skylark Custom convert and a 72 coupe. The vert has a ts code 455 that was just freshened. It was in the coupe and the previous owner swapped out the 350 and installed the 455 in the vert.It has a turbo 400, headers , Poston cam,Holley carb, colum shift , a/c,disc brakes.Needs the front clip put back on.Still have the original 350 if i get tired of smoking the tires.I bought the pair for 4 grand. The convert is a Texas car and except for one place on the drivers floorboard, doesn't appear to have any rust.I live in hotter than normal Titusville,Fla.

Here's my 72 Centurion... 455 - 4. Runs great, rides great. More fun then one should be allowed to have with their clothes on! Still researching the ownership, but I believe I am the third owner. It's been very well maintained over the years. Getting a cosmetic face lift in 1991. Recently added dual exhaust, sound system, tires and other small parts here and there. 118,000+ orginal miles.

Hello, I have a 68 Skylark custom convertible. I restored the engine and the exterior in 1995, the interior is all original yet. Get more pics up later when I get home.

    Hi All,

I have a 1970 Skylark Vert cloned into a GSX. It is a nice driver that needs a little work. Love going to the cruise nights and having something a little different then everyone else. Anyone else around Chicago?
